Michael's 1993 VE 5 spd, Austin, TX
Michael's 1993 VE 5 spd, Austin, TX
That's right, she is for sale.
I now have a company car and just don't have the time or $ to justify keeping her. My wife and I are saving up to buy some land and I am impatient!
This is essentially Michael's rebuilt 93 from the ground up. She started life as a white VE auto and is now a fully modded black VE 5. I'm sure there are many threads on the repainting of the car (valve covers and intake for example)
20k since rebuild (on rebuilt VTC's etc.), 20k on fresh paint, approx. 120k on motor now, 203k on original frame
(odomoter)

3. New axles (both replaced) (1 replaced since)
4. New axle seals (both replaced)
5. New slave cylinder

1b. Painted valve covers and intake (dark gray, very nice, see pics)
1. Full Stillen aero kit
2. New Nissan black paint (new in spring 2007, but was not perfect, Michael owes it a touch up - ask me about this)

Pros: Car runs like a champ
pulls very strong
no VTC clack whatsoever, not even startup
Body is almost perfect
Cons: Needs respray of hood and bumper (Michael will do this for me or we can arrange for the buyer). The bumper started peeling - poor paint job underneath (not Michael's).
Needs new struts
Small exhaust leak before muffler (by right rear tire).
1 small door ding in driver's side (only noticeable at certain angles and up close), 1 small ding in right rear quarter panel (same)
broken bolt near cam sensor, no leaks though
An awesome 3rd gen for someone who can appreciate her for what she is. See the photos. I paid 5300 for her 2 years ago. I know I may not get close to that now, so the price is a bit below that.
Asking price: $4300 (reduced)

Wow, dang, never thought I'd see this day! Good luck with the sale, hopefully it'll go to somebody who will really appreciate the time and money put into that.
I'm basically doing the same thing with a blue VE auto I've had sitting around for a couple of years. Doing a 5 speed swap, replacing virtually everything on the car and engine ("new" JDM), rebuilt transmission, etc.
Anyway, good luck with it. Really a fantastic car!
