F/S 1998 SE 5spd VERY FAST**Modified Tastefully (SAN DIEGO) $2499

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE that is available for sale. I just put $1300 into the car and drove it cross country from New Jersey. It is a manual transmission 5spd with a BOSE stereo, spoiler, moon roof, and power driver's seat.
I have done some modifications to enhance the appearance and drivability of the car. You will have a safer, better looking, better handling, and better stopping car than other Maximas on the road.

The car is making a good bit of noise from the engine. I'm 90% sure it needs a timing chain and NOTHING else. I just got the valve cover gasket changed so I'm VERY sure that this is the only $ you will have to put into the car.

The car now has 176,000 miles on it.
As for the upgrades:
**All the orange in the lights both in the front and back of the car have been changed to be clear. This gives the car a newer look similar to the new cars that you see on the road today.
**I have put 17 inch alloy wheels on the car which not only enhance the appearance but have a reduced weight of 15lbs/wheel which causes less strain on the drive train enabling more power to get to the ground.
**I have installed an under drive pulley that adds about 8hp and helps 1st gear wind out quicker. This is another modification to help power get to the ground more efficiently.
**The car has a Jim Wolf Technologies Warm Air Intake with Place Racing Mid-pipe that adds about 10hp and gives the engine a nice grunt.
**I have installed a Warpspeed mandrel bent Y pipe that is the biggest power adder on the car good for about 20hp.
**OBX catback exhaust(mock Greddy exhaust) with 3 resonators to add horsepower without making the car obnoxiously loud.~10hp
**Rear Sway Bar tightens up the rear of the car to prevent body roll in corners.
**Short Throw Shifter with Carbon Fiber Shift ****. If you have driven a 5 speed Maxima before you know that the shift is as long as a truck so this was necessary to add ease to shifting.
**Brembo Disc Brakes. I have genuine Brembo cross drilled rotors in the front and genuine Brembo blank disc brakes in the back.
**Sirius Satellite Radio Sportster professionally mounted.

The car is obviously 10 years old and has normal wear. The only quote unquote issue cosmetically would be that the front of the hood is dented and bent a bit. It cleans up real nice and sounds real good. It doesn't have a "rice" sound that a 4cyl Japanese car would have.

All together I have over $3700 in upgrades on the car. I am accepting all offers at this point so please let me know if you are interested by sending me an email to adamstair@gmail.com. I'm absolutely not trying to rip anyone off. If you want to take the car to a mechanic to check it out before you buy that may be arranged. Bottom line, it's an awesome car, come check it out, and I'll work with you if you want to make a deal.

Thank you.

PRICE UPDATE: $2299

99 door. haha. Parallel parking in Philly I hit a concrete pole that was shorter than the window therefore I couldn't see it. Good eye BTW

99 door and a '00 transmission that Jay25 installed about 6 years ago.

I really wish this were an I30

I could technically convert it, but knowing that a little Japanese man assembled the car makes me feel more comfortable.

Anyways, still got the car? Willing to negotiate?

I need to buy something like yesterday. Just sold my G35 last month, then sold my wife's Celica today. We're now both sharing my MIL's Avalon and I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT! Sorry.

Anyways, I'd need to see it, drive it, and take it to a mechanic about the noise. If all else checks out, I could hand you cash or one of those cool emails where I send you $2000 extra so you can give it to my Nigerian "transporter" HAHAHAHA. Sorry. J/K.

Give me a call (Riverside Area Code) 345**8199 or text.

Faster than any bolt on (no headers) Mustang GT from 95-04. To me that's fast, now of course that's by no means "Very Fast" in Maxima.org terms, but I'd say for most sedans out of the 90's that is "very fast"

bump...still available...not repainted quarter panel, new quarter panel with original paint.

Will sell for $2,000 this week. I'm finally going to give in and advertise the car so it won't be long before it's gone!

What are you talking about? A stock 99-04 GT will trap like 98ish and run low 14's with a good driver. Not every GT is an old 5.0 rustbucket with a 2.73 rear end on it.

Awesome, someone got a truly fast car. Make sure you warn the new owner to look out for the motion blur effect when flooring it.

Out of the 7 GT owners I personally know and have raced (at the track...) only 1 can drive it well enough to get that low of a time w/ GT.

Awesome. I have no reason why you'd sell such a fast car... 14.5@95 is not fast. It's barely average and barely faster than stock times. This coming from a previous FASTER maxima owner lulz.

It's just you. It's got some hazing on it, which is why it looks less clear than the passenger side. But both are the 97-99 headlights.
