I have a 96 SE 5 speed - Emerald Green with Beige Leather Interior.

Bose
Automatic Climate Control
Moonroof
Spoiler
Newer 97 Wheels/Tires
Damn good condition for a 96!
New Exhaust
New Starter
All Records (even the original window sticker)
202k miles but it runs like a damn champ - never left me stranded!!! All Highway Miles!

I'd let it go for $2100 or best offer

Nope, just gotta be patient and keep looking. When I'm looking for one, I check CL just about daily. I just sold a VE 5 speed on CL about a month ago. It sold within 5 hours of me posting it (at my asking price of $1900 too), so there's definitely people out there looking for them.

Here's one near you but it'll require a new quarter panel and door (really not that bad of a job). Not a bad price for the work it needs assuming the tranny and engine are in good shape like it says.

Also, is this you?

Yes, I've been checking a good 10+ sites on a daily basis for the last few weeks. That is my thread on CL =D lol

As for that $750 VE with rear/quarter damage... You think it's worth buying and getting the body work done? I'd see if they'd let it go for less than $500.

Judging from the pics, it LOOKS like all it needs is a new quarter panel and door (actually the door may be fixable or even just have some slight "surface" damage - or none at all, can't really tell from the pic). It doesn't look like the trunk got ruined, or that it was a hard enough hit to "smear" the rear end over and tweak the WHOLE back side of the car (usually you'll see creases/tweaked metal/etc on the opposite side of the impact if this is the case - but judging from the pic the passenger side rear looks fine).

Doing the quarter panel is actually not that bad (you can do it yourself if you're a pretty skilled DIY'er), but I'd guess a shop would charge anywhere from $500-1000? for labor on it assuming you get your own junkyard quarter panel. You could probably stay on the lower end of that if you find a sort of mom and pop shop or even a guy who does it as a sort of hobby (like Michael/awsm66 in the 3rd gen section)

You'd also need to check the suspension on that side. Something could be bent in there, but even if it all needed replacing it wouldn't be much from a junkyard.

So, yeah, personally, I would probably scoop that up if I could get it for ~ $500-600 (assuming the tranny and engine are good, like the ad says). The rest of the paint/body actually look good, though the pics aren't high quality. But then again I looooove VE 5's and also love a good project, so take what I say with a grain of salt. That color is rare too. You could likely get it all done for under $2k total
