F/S: Tastfully Modded 1993 5-Speed
After 7 1/2 years the time has finally come to sell my 3rd Gen. I have put countless hours and dollars into this car. Nothing was ever done by cutting corners.
THIS CAR HAS NO BODY RUST!
The car was originally a VG GXE with an automatic transmission. I converted it to a VLSD 5-speed around 129K miles. The car currently has 189K miles.
Refer to the mod list in my signature for all that I have done to the car. It has virtually all of the bolt-ons that were ever available for these cars. It has almost everything Matt Blehm ever created, as well as many other highly desirable parts. I have a folder full of receipts.
It also comes with an extra VLSD transmission, extra starter, extra MAF, and almost everything needed for the rear disc conversion...This is the one thing I never got around to installing.
Also comes with two-tone embroidered leather seats from Katzkins. These were over $1000 new.
The heads have been completely rebuilt and all rubber hoses, vacuum lines, etc. were replaced in the last 3000 miles. Comes with a BRAND NEW battery.
The Bad:
Needs one fuel injector replaced
Transmission making ISB-like noise after ISB was replaced. May be cracked spring in clutch disc. Car drives fine, but issue should be trouble-shooted (for lack of better term?)
Car needs alignment - replaced tie rod ends after latest tranny install...Has been driven less than 50 miles since then.
Tires are in great shape, so are brakes, all fluids are fresh, paint is in great shape.
You really are not going to find many cleaner, better cared-for 3rd Gens left out there. All it needs is a couple minor things and a new owner.
The car is in Houston, TX. I am pricing it at a VERY reasonable $1950 OBO. Now $1700 OBO
PM me if you are interested and I can call you and answer any of your questions.

Bump
Price is negotiable, all gaskets and rubber hoses have been replaced within the past year and 3000 miles (I haven't driven it much in the last year.) All from Nissan, totaling almost $400!
I will try to take some more pics in the next few days and post them.

Haven't put it on Craigslist...yet. I really would prefer to sell it to an org enthusiast. It would really make me sad to sell it to someone who would not take the kind of care of it that I have...
If it doesn't sell in the next week or so I think I will have to open the sale up to the general public - CL, ebay, etc...Then it's anybody's guess who will end up with it...

Well, judging by all the 3rd gen sales I've watched on here the past 3-4 years, I haven't seen any enthusiasts pick up the cars that have been listed. Not a single one, unless I'm missing something. Although VEvolution sold his VE to a friend of his, and that friend is now an active member here. While it would be nice if yours went to an enthusiast, recent history says it's pretty unlikely. Looks like some of the newer generation guys somewhat dabble in interest in 3rd gens but never buy.
I sold my old VE 5 with faded paint and 196k miles within a day of putting it on CL. And I got $1850 for it, which was only $50 below my asking price. Put you a nice, detailed, and thorough ad on CL, and you'll likely get a ton of interest (of course I'm sure you know this already). I had 5-6 e-mails within an hour of putting my ad up. Just about all the people who e-mailed me about the car actually mentioned how they liked how thorough my ad was and how detailed I was in the ad with all the maintenance work/repairs I'd done to it.

any chance of trades plus cash on your end for my car? '92 Sentra SE-R very well cared for. I have FS thread on here. I'd work out a reasonable deal for you if you're interested as I feel your car is under priced for what you've put into it. Let me know.

Sorry, no trades. I am wanting to sell off all the vehicles I have at the moment (Maxima, Mercedes, and Corvette) and buy a newer, low miles Corvette and just have one car. I don't have the time or patience to be performing maintenance any longer.
And thanks, I know the car is underpriced...The amount I am asking for it is just what I have put into it in the last year alone...Top end rebuild and transmission

You will not get ACC with a VE. It was only available with the GXE. You will have to do a conversion. What is the issue with an airbag? If you really want, you can remove it from the later models.

Of course it is driveable...Just a little bit of noise coming from the transmission area - a noise I have put up with for almost 3 years, and an intermittent injector.
How long of a hold are we talkin?

Hey Maxitech, I'm definitely interested. Just waiting for my '03 Protege5 to sell. Should be within the next couple weeks. I had to let my '89 go to a friend who I owed money to, but yours has all the mods already that I was going to do to mine, and I definitely love the VG-vlsd5! So, count me in the running.
PS. I might have to paint it Silver though ;-)

Better get the money together before then, mrkanda...I need this car gone by this weekend...Better beg, borrow, or steal if you want it!
BTW, most of the mods on this car are no longer available...It would be next to impossible to reproduce the setup this car has due to most of the parts being out of production.
