FS:1988 Nissan Maxima SE in NYC
ITEM: My Maxima.
PRICE: $1800obo
SHIPPING: No.
DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is my beloved Maxima. I bought this car a few months ago with 96k miles from the second owner. So far I have done a full tune up, brand new alternator and a brand new battery. Suspension wise, I've installed 4 brand new KYB struts all around. I have also replaced the front lower control arm bushings which commonly fail on these cars. I have also had an front end alignment done a few weeks ago. The car has been my daily driver since July, and I honestly love the thing to death. Its not often you find a SE anymore. I have other interests and this is the first car to go out of my collection.
The engine and transmission run and drive smooth, no knocks or leaks on the engine whatsoever. The interior is in almost mint condition for it's age. The dash isnt cracked and broken like most cars from this era. Seats are still plush and comfortable. The two front seats have a factory power track. The rear seats are still clean and cozy.
The air conditioner still works! Has original R-12 refrigerant in the system, and it is wayyyy colder than most new cars out there. The A/C in this car proven itself to me over the summer and amazed all of my friends. The heat is amazing too in this car.
Car still has the SE Front Valance and the SE rear trunk spoiler. Commonly these front valances fall off or get stolen along with the rear spoiler back in the 80's and 90's. Car also has brand new Ventshade smoked window visors installed. I had high hopes of one day putting a Kaminari kit on this car and cruise around. But she has to go. I would really love for this car to go to an enthusiast or someone that will take the best care of her. I've put a lot of time and money making this car drive and perform well.
The cons are as follows:
Car has a slight exhaust leak at the catalytic converter outlet. Which I was going to fix by deleting the cat since the car is emissions exempt.
Car has a slight power steering leak which is common on Nissans from this era and needs to be topped up every few weeks.
The bumpers have paint fading on them.
I am looking for $1800 or best offer. You could call or text me at 347-223-6878. Sorry not interested in trades at the moment. I am only testing the waters on this car.
