NY 2004 Maxima Dark Grey Need Engine
2004 Maxima Dark Grey Need Engine
Please moderators correct the title should be 2003...
Would like to find out or any possible offers.
Would like to have car sold, no part outs...
2003 Maxima Dark Grey needs new engine.
What would be a price to sell for? Thanks for the help. Helping a friend..trying to decide to either buy a new engine or just sell and get a new car.
She's selling it whole..

She was quoted about $1700 in NY. Plus she tells me how people take advantage of women there.
Well my friend isn't confident on if the engine will last seeing as this one from factory didn't last that long...so she might be better off just using a downpayment on a new car..Her job requires travel so...

Are you sure she's maintaining it properly?
I'll ask her and found out. It is mainly because of being hesitant about another Nissan Engine.
a good, lower mileage engine in new england, goes anywhere from 900-1500. Add labor for r&r and total price can easily be $1700 out the door.
I would strongly suggest a low mileage engine or a reman engine. Don't bother buying a cheap 150k mile motor as your are gambling with your money. Nissan definitily dropped the ball for the 2002-2003 vq35 and qr25 engines due to pre cats and piston ring problems with these motors.
Also, see if you can price out a rebuild of your current motor. You might be able to find a reasonable price. Selling the car as is and getting another car is the easiest way out though.
