Mechanic's special. Very difficult to find1986 Nissan maxima Wagon with 199K. This equates to approximately 16.5K miles annually.
About 7 months ago I replaced, timing belt, drive belts, brakes, installed new radiator and hoses, alternator, tires and tuned it up. The cylinder compression is still very good on the V6 3.0 liter engine. The body has some very slight damage but the interior is in excellent shape. Windows are also tinted.
I installed some front seat covers to keep front seats from wearing away. Everything still works from the factory installed stereo with equalizer to the moonroof, to the rear window washer.
It passed smog previously but buyer is responsible for smog for registration.
It drove really well but just recently the automatic transmission stopped shifting out of low gear. It does drive but you cannot go over 25 mph because of over revving the engine. It will reverse. You will need to have it towed.
I called a transmission repair shop who informed me it was the valve body and that it needed to be rebuilt. The cost would be around $300-$400 I was told. Having spent quite a bit of money already I no longer want to address this issue. I hope someone would be able to give this rare car a nice home.
Asking $750 or best offer.
Thanks for looking.
