First off, I want to apologize for using this site as long as I have and never making an account...I guess because I never made the car a showcar. Car has been our most reliable family car since we've had it.Transmission went out before winter. Sometime after Halloween, after exiting the highway, it never left the highway gear, never went into 1st or second. At a light, it would crawl away until about 40mph, when it started to move like normal. After parking it, it won't go into any gear anymore.

$350 is what the junkyard is offering, so that is what I'm listing it for...I don't want it to go to the junkyard.

I've had the car for 14 years, put a lot of sweat and soul and money (when I could) in it, but have no more money unfortunately. Bought it at Schaumburg CarMax with 70K on it. It has 166K now.


Car runs smooth, does not move, I started the car twice over winter and once last week

Mass air flow sensor was non functional and replaced shortly after purchasing the car in 2001-2002
All injectors have been replaced at one point or another
Radiator replaced with factory Nissan OEM in 2005, due to an oil changing shop damaging the original radiator and refusing to pay for damages.Car has never overheated.
Timing belt,tensioner and water pump done at Schaumburg Auto in 2004 at 120K
AC recharged in 2013 but it didn't stay cold after a day, mechanic said there was a leak
All four brake lines were removed and new ones installed in 2013, work done at 1st stop auto in hanover park
Newer brakes
New tires

Body straight, but has rust and paint is faded
dent in driver side fender which does not affect the rest of car, car is straight and has NO ALIGNMENT ISSUES, driver door opens and closes fine.
Sunroof motor works, I open sunroof all the time, but glass is cracked and carpet is stained near the roof so I'm assuming there is a very small leak
Trunk lock cylinder is broken, trunk opens from outside keycode panel via passcode. Driver door lock cylinder is also seized. Digital keypad works fine.
Driver side window regulator works, all others DO NOT

Many details are missing, I've had the car so long I don't remember everything I did to it.



I have driven the car an average of 7-8K a year. It's my first car and I was very gentle with it and tried to take care of it as much as I could. I never modified it in any way, afraid I was going to mess it up.Unfortunately, times are tough, the car is old and I don't have 1600 dollars to give to a transmission shop to fix it. The paint faded a lot in the recent years because I couldn't keep up with it anymore. I have spent a lot of time trying to take care of it, as it was our family car. With a bad transmission, I know it isn't worth much, but I CAN'T STAND TO SEE IT GO TO THE JUNKYARD. I'm moving now, so it has to go but I'd prefer it if someone took it to fix it or to use it for parts. However, money is money so if no one buys it by the end of the month it'll go to the wrecker, taking a piece of my heart with it.
