I just checked that out on the map and it seems like that would be a great spot.. Right off of 55 just west of 94.. Is everyone driving ok with this area..

I may leave on Wednesday, the 8th, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Will do. Not exactly sure when I'll know for certain, but I hope it will be within a month.

Kinda waiting to see what the Maxus 'schedule' is for that Friday.

I'm interested as a possible driver for this. It would all depend how big of a caravan we have going. If its like 8-10 people then yes I'd definately be interested. But if its only a couple than maybe not, I'll keep posted to the updates.

There's good and bad about large caravans. They're harder to keep together especially for a long drive. That means the trip can take longer than planned.

And sometimes the drivers get way to competitive and that can be dangerous. Of course none of us are like that, right?

Yeah, I've heard about a few of those trips. If that's what a caravan to Maxus would be like, I wouldn't want to be a part it.

It really depends on the drivers more than the number of cars, though.

i wouldnt be surprised if a little speed happened but those who dont want to go that fast dont have to. as long as everyone keeps it leveled at 75ish the rest of the way we shouldnt have any problems. and keeping together wouldnt be too hard as long as we set up little meeting points along the way. gas stations every 250-300 miles would keep us in a semi-tight group.

suggested spots:
Bloomington, IL
St. Louis, MO
Springfield, MO
Muskogee, OK
Dallas, TX

can ya tell i've done this before?

Caravans are fun, both big and small. The one coming back from the track in KY last march was especially exciting.... that rain was crazy.

Anyways, leaving on the morning of the 9th would probably work, depending on how early the events start happening on the 10th.

Either the 8th or the 9th will work.. As mentioned earlier if the events start early on the 10th we will want to get there on the 8th to rest, but if they start late on the 10th then we can get there the night of the 9th and be alright.. My girl is from Ft. Worth and her mom still lives there so they are familar with the city.. There is a lot of stuff to do as well outside of this Maxus event.. Down town Ft. Worth / Dallas is nice plus they have a cool go-cart track place down there.. Should be fun!!

Why is this thread dead? I'll be dragging Andrew with me. If he starts acting up he'll be traveling in the trunk. Anyone know how to drive stick? I don't know if I'll be able to drive the whole trip without popping some pills to keep me UP.
