Track day at Texas World Speedway!
http://www.texasworldspeedway.com
Cost will be $180 per car/driver for 4 hours of track time. Beginners and experienced drivers are welcome, as well as any non-nissan that wishes to attend.
Entry forms are here:
http://mattblehm.com/maxus/TWS_App.doc
PLEASE FILL THESE OUT ASAP TO ENSURE YOUR SPOT AT THE TRACK! Space is limited, and we need to get these done soon so the track manager doesn't think we're a bunch of goobers that ask for a track day and don't show up. you can even pay with check or credit card this way! Just download the application and send it in to the track at the contact info at the bottom.
Best bet is to drive in to College Station on Thursday and stay there thurs night. (I will post hotel info later.) gates open at 7am on Friday morning. driver's meeting usually around 8am..
When it's over (about 5pm), we will caravan back to the Dallas area Friday night and check into our hotels there and then find something casual to do for the rest of the evening.
Saturday, June 11
Car Show and Meet sponsored by Trophy Nissan!
10am-4pm
http://www.mynissanparts.com/
the actual event will be held at the Town East Mall parking lot, which is about 2 miles south of Trophy. (map here..)
there will be several classes and trophies for each group- actual classes TBD. Cost of entering the show will be minimal, and will include one Maxus 2005 T-shirt.
For those who don't wish to enter the show, there will be another area marked off for for all Maxima owners to park and show off their rides.
Lunch for everyone will be supplied by Trophy, and I have heard rumors of Hooter Girls in the area.
I am planning on having several vendors attend as well- I've already talked to Warpspeed and Cattman and a couple others. trying to round up as many as I can to come and put up booths.
Dyno Meet at Alamo Autosports!
6pm-10pm (possibly later as required)
http://alamoautosports.com/
Price for the dyno is $35 per person, for 2-3 runs. look in other related threads for dyno signup info.
Hotel Info:
For the people who want to come to the road course event on Friday, you should come in on Thursday night unless you live close to College Station.
the hotel we will be using is the Manor House Inn: http://www.manorhouseinn.com/
Contact info: 1-800-231-4100
Rates are $55 per night. Be sure to tell them you're there for Maxus 2005, or request block CGMB#1 to get the discounted rate.
I have reserved 40 rooms for the track event, so no problem not having space here. but still please get your names in early. They are releasing my block of rooms at the end of May so no more reservations are guaranteed if you call after that.
For the hotel in Dallas, I have the info linked in another thread:

Matt, I'm curious about the track day at Texas World Speedway.. What is their policy on spectators? Is there a spectator fee, or are spectators not allowed or what? Also if we get to run for 4 hours, what would we do about gas? We would run out of gas wayyyyyy before 4 hours of hauling *** around that oval.

Another question about Track Day. It says $180 per car/driver. My son (18) is coming with me. Do you know if we both could drive the course for $180, not exceeding 4 hours? I checked the speedway website but couldn't find an answer.
James, I'm hoping to get some flyers printed up.. even the ricers are welcome as long as they behave themselves.
maybe distribute them to the area parts stores and race/rice shops and such. extra publicity never hurts!!
Frosty, there is gas (anything from 87 to 110 octane) at the track if you want to pay their prices, and there are also several gas stations just a couple miles up the highway from the track for 87-93 octane.
usually I can run the first half of the day on a full tank, then I'll head up to Freebird's for lunch (YUMMY Burritos!!) and fill up on gas on my way back.
you are allowed to bring gas as well, but only up to 5 gal containers. anything else is considered oversize containers and a fire hazard (red tape rule #12098.23A)
Spectators are no problem and are free. they just sign a waiver at the front gate just like you would at an autocross or dragstrip- except it's free.
Bluesbreakr, that will be something you have to talk to the track about. You can get in touch with Jack Turner at the contact info here: http://texasworldspeedway.com/contact.htm

I'll do a sign up sheet later for the show part. price will be about $30 to enter the show, which will cover cost of trophies and t-shirts.
I'll post exact specifics later. trying to get BlehmCo toys finished up for the event now so I'll have something to show off.
