Exclamation Alternative thing to do...Need Headcount ASAP

I heard back from my friend about getting a good price on Speedzone (goKarting).

We're trying to set up a discount (like 50% off) or an unlimited block of time for a fee but we need a headcount of how many people. I'd like to get the headcount done by Monday so we can get the ball rolling.

So, would you be interested on going to Speedzone Friday night for awhile?

What time are you thinking of? I'll be doing the track day on Friday but I'm not sure what time we'll get into the Dallas area.

Ya, it's pretty cool. They have propane power funny cars that run on a drag strip. You can race up to 6 cars at once.

Lightbulb

I think it would be best to do this later at night. Speedzone closes at 1am so that leaves plenty of time at night to do this.

TWS will be over at 5pm (or earlier depending on half day racing) so why not set this up for 9pm giving a 3 hour drive time from TWS to Dallas.

Will 9pm work for everyone?...or maybe 8pm?

I'd prefer 9pm to make sure we have enough time to get back from the track day at College Station. Plus we'll have to check into the Day's Inn before we would head out to Speedzone.

True...don't worry though, the distance between the Days Inn and Speedzone is all highway so it will only be about 20-30 minutes at the most.

Damn Eous, is there no way to do it Saturday night? We already have a thing going at Denton Raceway Friday night at 9pm but I want to do both damnit! If there was no way to do Speedzone on Saturday night, I guess I would have to choose SZ over the 1/8 mile but that would mean backing out on all the people that have already said they were going to Denton Friday night.

I think there will be plenty of people to go to both the 1/8th and SZ...

I apologize for the inconvenience. The Denton 1/8th could also be done on Saturday night as both the 1/8th and SZ are open both nights.

Well, I think I will round up the OK guys and head to SpeedZone if you can indeed get us a 50% discount. It's just too much fun to pass on.

I think that'd be a great idea for Sat night, but Friday night people seem to have other plans going.

I would be down for this on Friday night at 9 pm, I can run on the 1/4 tracks here any time in the summer and I promised myself I won't goto one again until I have my DRs or slicks.

Latinmax has come through with the pricing for us.

We will have 4 hours of unlimited use cards for $25. This is horrendously cheap when compared to the normal pricing.
You need to make sure that the management/staff knows you are with the "Maxus Event" so they will know you are getting the discount when buying the cards.

Lastly, the Unlimited Usage Cards are only good for racing...no food, drinks or anything that wins you a prize.

I don't think there will be a time limit as far as when you can pick up the cards but since Speedzone closes at 1am you should purchase it before 9pm so you can get full use. I will be there at 7ish with my son, Tyler.

Fooking sweet man....thanks for getting this together. I didn't think it would be possible about a month ago when we thought up the idea.

Doh, thought the speedzone was on saturday, not Friday. Well I'll be getting into town so I'll be there around 10pm. I'll probably just race a couple races ala carte and then chill out. I'm sure it's cheaper to just race a couple then buy the $25 thing.

I think the e-drag is like $12 per race session....so it would be better to get the card.
And to clear on thing up. You can play almost all the acrade games also, but you don't get the tickets as a reward to buy all the crap they have. That is the limitaion on that.
See eveyone there.

Ok I know this may be cheating but if I bring my wife and two kids, could we just get 2 or 3 cards to use between us and one of us take a break while the others are racing and playing games or is it like an armband or something that has to be tied to one person?

Also thanks to LatinMax and Mr.Eous!!!

I'm doing the same thing.

I don't think there is an armband, if so that's ok since it will only be my son and I.

No arm band. Just a credit type card that you swipe thru the machine....so your idea may work.

Hey Latin and Eous, just wanted to thank you guys for your help in getting last night's event set up. I can speak for everyone I am sure in saying that it was one helluva time and definitely worth the 25 bucks. Thanks again.
