time for maxus 2006 yet????
Vegas would be nice, I was planning on going to Vegas after Maxus but I didn't have enough time or money. If there is a good road course out there I would def be down for it, but I would probally just fly out there and rent a car for the track. (if the track has cars you can rent)

haha, jus askin besides by next year ill be 21 and thas when the partyin really begins!
That would be alot of fun, but damn, Vegas is one hell of a haul. I would probably only go if alot of people committed to going. I know that getting people to set it all up is a big issue, but what about having it somewhere in the midwest? More guys from the east would probably show up, and it wouldn't be that bad of a drive for those of you in Texas. I dunno, just a thought.
Edit: ^^Atlanta would be a decent place also.

The two places that I was brainstorming for possible venues were Chicago and Atlanta. Both of these locations would provide options for the east coast group to attend.
Blake, I may be living in Atlanta next summer so that might give us another place to stay.

I prefer the Vegas idea. But it doesn't matter where you select, if it isn't in the NorthEast, most of the NE ppl will wuss out. And apparently all of the West Coast ppl will wuss out no matter what.
Atlanta will never get my vote, I have been there too many times and there is no more to do there than there is do to here. Plus, NOPI is already held there every year. Myrtle Beach or Orlando wouldn't be bad ideas if we held it in the SouthEast.

So what can you do in Vegas that you couldn't do in the Atlanta area besides gamble? If you are looking for hookers I am pretty sure you won't have a problem picking one up in Atlanta.
Personally, after being to Vegas, the gambling aspect provides too large a monetary distraction, but to each his own.

Well, strip clubs were an option in Dallas and to my knowledge that option was passed on for a cleaner alternative. Plus, 150?? Considering the West Coast turnout this year (ehem ~ 0), I couldn't see there being more than about 20 cars at the show in total whereas a show on the eastern part of the conus would have more around 200 cars.

If we do however agree to have it on the EC again, I still recommend Myrtle Beach SC or Orlando FL.
I'd definitely be down for Myrtle Beach, as long as we can make Maxus during one of the cheaper golf package weeks.
Plus, we can drive up to Little River and hop on the casino boats -- did this just two months ago in mid-March and had a blast. I have now been there twice and it is by far my favorite vacation destination outside of Hawaii. The hotel/golf packages are outrageous.

I was just thinking of having it here in central mass...
Theres a spot in Auburn where they have 200~300 + car shows at the local mall every few months in the summer. Also Lime Rock racetrack is about 2 hours from there and New England Dragway (1/4 mile) is about an hour away. Also the place I dyno is about 10 minutes from this spot. Not to mention theres 3 new hotels in the area that were just completed this year. Plus theres alot of good restuants and clubs in the area, including the best sushi bar Ive been to.
Just tossing the idea out, feel free to flame away...
Edit: And there is Bancroft Nissan, they do some car shows at there lot but its probally to small for us. They might be willing to sponser this meet.

From Myrtle Beach there are several tracks within a few hours.
Carolina Motorsports Park
Directions
Roebling Road
Directions
Roebling is probably too far away. CMP would be a little less expensive. And I'm not even going to consider Road Atlanta for cost.
Darlington Dragway
Directions
Coastal Plains Dragway
Directions
There are a few other 1/4 mile tracks but are probably too far away.

Then there is the Myrtle Beach Grand Prix which is similar to Speed Zone.

And anyone who's been to MB knows it's like a micro Vegas for Hotels.

Ive driven to Atlanta Plenty of times in my car and in Rentals so Id be down for Atlanta next year. Plus, I miss all my ATL max crew. Bags and all them SMX(Wayne). I wish nismo2020 was still there.
Ideally somewhere right in the middle of the country would be nice. St. Louis would both be a good option.
If we do keep it further south then I would offer Baton Rouge. Although there is not a ton of stuff to do in the city that you couldn't do in just about anywhere else, there is tons of good restaurants (especially seafood), and an really nice track with a smaller road course and a nice 1/4 mile only an hour away. New Orleans has a lot to do although a lot of the bigger maxima guys there have move or moved on.
Anyway if you do have it somewhere else, I will go anywhere in the southeast and will try to make it otherwise.

Las Vegas is a sweet place but I dont think we need to just cut off the east coast. It seems to me there is strong membership in in the south (FL/GA) not to mention alot of members for the New York area and Mass.
I'm not saying Atlanta has to be it, just don't make it nearly impossible for the East Coast to attend.

im down for st louis
it cant get any more central then it
weve got most of the areas covered gateway racetrack (1/4) strip clubs, gambling you name it + traffic isnt that bad (i here chicago is horrible) but i dont think i could be that lucky so as long a my max is running i drive werever this time
i agree on trying having more central to east this time NC, GA, IL would be good flordas kinda secluded so i dont think thats a logical choice

i think it should be somewhere in the central U.S. (ie: not east or west coast..) i think chicago or st.louis would be some pretty good places to go, and i believe that will give a better turn out, since it wont be a 3000 mile drive for anyone....i really want to be able to come next year, but if it's in the NE, i just don't see it happening...myrtle beach isn't so bad, but i bet the west coast people are screaming no on that one, and the east coast people are saying the same thing about vegas....just my .02
so who's going to pay all the thousands of $ in costs without a dealership sponsoring the event?
thus the reason it was held in Dallas. Trophy Nissan paid for the event, not us. I don't have $20,000 to crap out to put on an event like that. Trophy plans to make this an annual event and grow each year into something pretty large.. Without someone like that helping, I don't see it really going very far.
