i was thinking that the NO/BR/north shore people could all head up 49 and meet the ATL crew near the 49/20 interchange in shreveport....the timing would have to be pretty good, but i think we could pull it off

I'm sure we will have a nice showing for 2006 too... We had 4 maxima's from BR come last year, so we should have more than that this year. And that caravan from idea sounds great.

Ill be bringing my mint 95 SE this year. Hopefully I will have some mods on it before I go. If I can get some stuff fixed with my 88 I might just bring that one too.

I will probably be there assuming no life things get in the way. I will bring my car, don't think I would want to go without my car. Trying to get Neal to bring his car as well but his may not be up for the drive.

I would like to see a dyno event at the least. Getting some 1/4 mile time in would be cool as well. Don't know if I would do any road corse racing though.

nothing 'set in stone' as of yet, but most people are leaning toward the weekend of may 26th, which i think is a smart idea, because the monday following is memorial day, and many people will be off work...

Haven't set the date in stone yet because this year I'm planning the date based on the availability of race tracks, not setting a date and hoping the tracks are available.
we're working on that right now and once we get the date set and events locked in, we'll start working on the rest of the stuff.

the track day and other stuff will need to be paid up front, so those of you planning on going to the road course will need to start packing away a few bucks!

Getting the track stuff set first is a great idea, Matt. I can plan my time down there around whatever track dates you come up with.

Although I think the BR, LA and southeast Caravan needs a different thread I am of course in. Although if TWS is before the main part of Maxus I will go the Houston way and not try to destroy myself and end up getting another ticket so I might only be with all of you until Lafayette unless some of you 's will actually go to TWS with me which would be great. A video camera would be awesome.

Matt I am already saving for TWS.

How much money will be involved for the track events?

I know its gona be at least $200 worth of gas alone....
Hotel for $40 or so per night for 2-3 nights = $80-120
Speeding tickets = ?? jk

I don't know how far you're driving or where you're planning on going, but the track day should take 1-2 tanks of gas at most. usually I'll go through one full tank on the track, sometimes two depending on the car club I'm with and the amount of track time.
for a noob, I'd expect one full tank on the track.
then look at another tank or so to get to the track and back- depending again on which track we go to. one is ~3hrs away, one is 45 min away..

then gas to get there from GA will need to be factored in. $200 might be plausible if you count that in as well.
mapquest shows it being ~825 miles to Dallas from Marietta. at 27mpg and $2.50/gal, that's $165 in gas for the to/from trip. Add $60 for gas goofing off around dallas and yeah, $200 is in the ballpark.

No official plans on dates yet.. just started a new job today, so things are pretty hectic around here for the time being.

I've sent some emails to the road course guys to see if their schedules are as posted.. things are filling up quickly already.
according to their websites, May 19-21 is open at TWS, and Jun 3-4 is open at TWS and MSR.

the drag strip has stuff going on May 19-21 already, but seems to have the Jun 3-4 weekend open for regular test & tune type night. I'll need to get in touch with them and see what the plans are for it.

Also looking at the local car club schedules, the Annual Z Car Convention is in Dallas the entire week of May 29-June 2. They are having a track day at MSR on Thurs, June 1, and that would be a very good place to nip on their heels.. they are also having an Auto X on Fri June 2 for those that may be interested there. I'm friends with the people planning that this year and will get in touch with Lisa as well.

Not sure. I was going to ask them if they would like to come out- I am not sure what their show schedule is this year--- may evolve around that and other things...

I talked to them last year, and they were interested, but couldn't make it due to time schedules.

Since there's a huge Z convention in Dallas the week before, it's very likely that SGP will be able to be there for this one. I have a couple friends that work there and also will be doing a lot of work there with my Max soon, so I'm sure Mark will be willing to put some more thought into it this year.

Is anyone from the New England area plan on goin? I know I would love to go if plans are in order. Also funds for that matter. Dates would really be awesome, since I must schedule my vacation time at work.
If anyone plan on going from New England post up.... Thanks

Bill
