I just started my new job in Jan, and I'm asking for it off.
Simply say "I have a prior committment on xxx dates that I'd scheduled months ago. Will that be a problem if I take those few days off?"

works every time.

As for how many people I'm expecting, last year we had slightly less interest on the boards and ended up with ~75-85 cars at the event. I'm hoping to top 100 this year and grow from there.

I'm most likely out too. After thinking about how much money/time this going to cost me I don't think its the best idea right now. I'm moving south this summer and I need all the money I can get since apartments are so expensive there. Also, I'm still unsure as to whether I'll be keeping my Maxima or not and I don't want to put too many miles on it and lower the value.

I'm still keeping the time booked off work just in case, but sadly I probably won't be attending

Unfortunatly I start this job in 2 weeks, and they are acquiring 5 new properties, all which im in charge of managing the finances. They officially take over the properties as of June 1st, so being gone part of that week would make for a problem.

Plus im going to be in Hawaii 2 weeks before Maxus, thats a paid vacation and I dont want to ask off for more time.
