Maxus 08' (Orlando, Florida)?
Alright guys, you n00bs up in the north have been stealing Maxus since the beginning so for 2008 I propose the south takes the task and does big things.. I choose Orlando because any other area south Florida would be too ridiculous of a drive that people wouldnt show, also it gives plenty of room for GA, NC, AL, etc.. to make it out. If you have never been to florida the place is known to be really hot meaning no reason to be worried about snow, rain, etc. There are numerous tracks and other activites that can be scheduled throughout the weekend(whenever that will be) for people to caravan and enjoy.
If anyone has any objections to even having this in FL, speaking up and face a banning.

Orlando does sound nice! It's a very easy drive no matter where you are located.
I agree that you shouldn't go with a city any more south than Orlando. You can choose Gainsville (dynos and nice 1/4 mile track) or Daytona Beach also. North or Central FL sounds like a good location for 2008. Count me in if it's anywhere in FL.

Florida would be nice, but it would get rid of atleast 60-70% of the country due to distance, it has been in the south the past 2 years,
it really doesnt make much sense to have it on one of the coasts... but if the majority say they want it in florida, than florida it is i dont really care where it is, ill try my best to make it either way.. I'm just saying having it on the coast doesnt make much sense....

i'm up for majority vote but... um... last time i checked, texas is in the southern part of the state... not the north and before this year, i thought maxus was in texas two years in a row... the reason why i thought the midwest was nice was kuz then you can hope that the west coast people would drive out too.. and pretty much meet in the middle with the east coast people...

Oh look, it's the same thread that was created last year and the year before last!
What we have to realize is that basically anywhere we have it, a LOT of people are not going to want to make the drive. Chicago was a good location IMO because it was so central and if my car had any tire tread left and I knew I wasn't going to take my summer class, I probably would have been there this year. Best thing to do is just take a poll. First a regional poll, then post a couple cities in the winning regions and see which ones become finalists...

woot! sounds great. 3 1/2 hour drive. It'll be nice for others too that have never been to universal or other parks. Great vacation spot. Im down for sure. Might be going to UCF for college anyway so I'll be packing up for the ride.

damn thats a tough drive for the west coast people to strech it out all the way to the other side. thats a 2700 mile drive for me. i was planning to attend 08 but i beleive its best if we keep it in the middle. that way most people can come and the drive is fair from any corner.
do most of you guys drive the maximas to maxus? come to think of it, if all falls through, i might have to tow it.

I would be down for florida on the account I might have to drive my supra.. But then again I will most likely be in wyoming for schooling. So anywhere is good for me. How about kansas city it is about as central as you can get. Just a thought either way count me in I had a blast at chicago maxus and wherever it is I will most likely sponsor again in some way. Hopefully by then the bank account will be good enough to donate some $$$ and of course prizes etc.

I think having it in the middle of the US is a good idea on paper, and it sounds the "best" for everyone. But if you just want sheer numbers the biggest meets happen on the east coast. The NY/NJ meet has had several hundred maxima's at it. It also comes down to who is willing to plan the meet. I am sure that will take a ton of time and money to do. Of course I would like it as close to me as possible. If it does happen in FL, I would consider coming.

Florida is on a coast which eliminates ALOT of the country, same as NY or CA would.
Someone start a poll

I'm down either way....................the biggest catch if anyone wants it done anywhere in particular is a leader. Anyone interested having in their backyard better have a coordinator soon. Talk is cheap....you all need someone that has an idea that can be made to happen.

I walk what I talk so please try not to insinuate that we need someone responsible because you can ask anyone from FL how well the meets go down here and they will tell you I can put on a serious show if there is enough interest. I have contacts in Orlando that will get me some information on track(orlando speedway), hotels, sceneic activites, you name it.

No insunation or pointing fingers....just stating the bare minimal. If you want to have in your backyard, it's fine with me. My vote goes for both. I would like to visit FL, and having it once now gave us better ideas for next year.
