And we will also have plenty of information at the hotel on Friday and at the track on Sat.
I know Virginia doesn't allow radar detectors. But not sure about cell phones.

Yes. That information will be added on the website IF it's confirmed.
And we will also have plenty of information at the hotel on Friday and at the track on Sat.
Thanks. That's a good thing for people to know. What about the state of Maryland?

I am a little confused with some of the wording on the website, especially the prices. What exactly is "pit access"? If I'm just entering the car show, do I need it? And, if I'm paying an entrance fee for my car, do I need to pay a spectator fee too?
I just want to watch the races and enter "lightly modded" in the car show.
I think it's a great idea. All the members with LED tail lights, retrofitted headlights, and all that jazz will be able to show their stuff too.

Also, paying $20 for pit access IS a spectator fee. There are two options for all spectators that aren't racing their car on the drag strip. That is, the $15 spectator MIR charge, which you have to park outside the gates and walk into MIR. Or, the $20 pit access spectator charge, which you will need in order to enter the Car Show or Dyno Shootout.
I can see how the wording on the website can be a little confusing to someone who isn't familiar with drag strips. I will edit it to be a bit clearer. Thanks. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Ok, so $20 gets me and my Maxima in, as long as I'm not racing or dynoing?
I was worried that it would be $15 to see the races, plus $15 to see the dyno, plus $20 to see the car show, and so on...

For the Dyno Shootout, you will also need to register in advance and pay $40 for 3 pulls. And since it will be a mobile chassis dyno located in the pits of MIR, you will need to get your Maxima into MIR to participate, which as noted above, is $20.
Simply put, once you get inside MIR, you will be able to see everything. The Drag Showdown races, Dyno Shootout, and Car Show!
There is a link on the MAXUS09 website that will allow you to register in advance for the Car Show and Dyno Shootout.

Are you coming to MAXUS 09? If so, please in the Attendees List thread and lets see how big of a list we can get!

There isn't a set time. I'd plan on being there around 4pm or so. If you come earlier, no big deal. I'll be there around 1pm and some of the other guys may be there even sooner. But, we probably won't be set up in Damon's Bar and Grill until probably after 2pm. Just a guess. Just get there when you can. There will be a lot going on inside the hotel, the restaurant, and out in the parking lot all afternoon long. I will be tinkering with my car a tad probably at some time.
Do we have to pre-register for the drag showdown? On the Maxus09 website it claims and I quote "All drivers that have not preregistered by June 25, 2009 are subject to a $10 charge. Fee payable at the MAXUS registration table." But no registration link?
There is no advance registration needed for the Drag Showdown. So you are fine. All you have to do is show up at MIR and pay at the gate.
But it is HIGHLY recommended for people to register in advance for the Car Show and Dyno Shootout.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Thanks.
