Official Maxus 2009 Thread

All,

The Maxus Website is Up, and we are happy to announce that we've locked in a date, location, and activities for the weekend of June 26-28 2009.

Attendants from all over the North America have made past MAXUS events THE place to be for Maxima enthusiasts, and after 8 years MAXUS is coming back to the Washington D.C. area in 2009. Whether you just want to put names to faces, enjoy the races, or just relax and have fun, MAXUS 2009 will have it all

The schedule is as follows

Friday:
  • Hotel Check-In at Holiday Inn - Waldorf, MD
  • Meet and Greet at Damon's Bar & Grill (located inside lobby of Holiday Inn)

    Saturday:

  • Drag Showdown at Maryland International Raceway
    - We have rented the entire track for MAXUS 09
    - Classes and rules information to be announced
    - Trophies will be awarded to all winners
  • Dyno Shootout at Maryland International Raceway
    - Classes and rules information to be announced
  • Car Wash Meet at local car wash
    - Get your car ready for the Car Show at Maryland International Raceway
  • Car Show at Maryland International Raceway
    - Classes and rules information to be announced

    Sunday:

  • Scenic Cruise and Group Photo Session
    - Route and more information to be announced
  • Main BBQ Maxima Meet, Awards Presentation, and Raffle
    - Location to SOON be announced

We are working on, and should have the following set up by Mid Feb.
  • A registration site for those that are interested in going to pre-register for various events
  • Location/Details of BBQ
  • Specific concrete Event Rules, classes and by laws

Any questions, feel free to post in here, or contact me, Redmax, or Aaron92SE via pm or email.

Has this been confirmed for DC?

I'd like some more info on item #4. I'll be competing in 5 - 7.

Yes, this has been confirmed for the DC/MD area next summer. All the details for these events haven't been worked out just yet. We just need to know what everybody is interested in the most so we know which events to concentrate on.

I put a vote on dyno, but of course for me to actually participate it will have to be an AWD-capable dyno...

As to the sound-off...your main problem there is where to hold it. You know about the noise ordinenes around here

i voted 1 2 and 5.... i'd like to have my car ready for an actual roadcourse, but with recent events it seems VERY unlikely... if i'm lucky i MIGHT have new springs and struts and swaybars by Maxus. we'll have to see.

Yes, we know. We just want to get an idea of who's planning on participating in which events so we know which ones to concentrate on.

If people want a sound off event, we wouldn't be able to hold it in the state park with the BBQ. But we would probably get a local speaker shop involved.

Well, to that end, it would have to be more specific. Sound competitions have different categories (SPL, SQ, SQL), so for some you'd need be wary of noise ordinances, others...not so much. Don (Pearl96Max) can elaborate

Yes, Maxus is open to anybody who likes Maximas. You don't even have to own one. But if you do, you're strongly encouraged to bring it out.

q about drag racing: if there is someone in our class that we would specifically like to go up against, will that be allowed, or do ALL the matches have to be random? and also, will there be any practice runs allowed for those who are not familiar with drag racing, or people that did auto->manual swap or something major like that?
