I was one of the first cars at the meet and greet, didn't realize that was you DanNY, but thanks for stopping by and trying your best to organize everything and keep people acting right.

I have to admit i'm not that much of a social person, and I did stay with the 6th gen family for most of the days since it was like a reunion for us. But i did have some good conversations with some people, just didn't really know who anyone was. My shirt had my name on it so that was my name tag lol. So name tags would have been good.
yup that's me...Hi...
shane had his car positioned right so i was able to pull up next to him to talk w/o yelling. you were the opposite way but i did say hi.

grand - let the ppl vent. this is their vent thread i guess you can say. it'll be closed when it hits the end of page 4. they felt that something wasn't right...and they feel that this is the right channel to let out their frustration. just sit back and laugh if you wish.

like i said...
for those who had fun..great!! thank you for your positive feedback.
for those that didn't then we're sorry that we let you down. we'll try and do better next time.

no one got hurt. no one died. no one went to jail (that i am aware of)...IMO that's a pretty good meet.

i would still like Maxus to continue...but like anything else...it takes funding. the people who already contact me gave me great ideas but the sticking point was $$...no one has it.

so i doubt corey will do this again so we'll need to see who will step up to the plate with an idea AND money (or some plans to get it legally). don't just post something about who and what's going on next year. there won't be a next year unless i clear it. there were lessons learned here and i personally learned a few. i will not let Maxus fail but if it has to skip a year or two so things can be regrouped or funding comes in then it will skip a year.

there just isnt enough of a maxima market to warrant such a meet. i've been to maxus in chicago and in md and those were great events. i saw all the *****ing going on here even before the event and just said screw it. thats why i never attended any nyc maxima events back when i had my 4th gen. lots of complaining and straight insane ideas of what should go on.

go check what happens when 5000 vw's/audis go to their meet in ocean city. they are able to pull such support from the dealer, vendors, manf. just not sure maximas could do that. you guys should have said make this into a nissan meet and then the people setting up the event wont loose money, and there would be a large crowd. the V owners had a track day which normally is just us, but we allowd vettes, atoms, gtos, etc to show so the organizers wont loose money.

Already did, both in this thread, and the other thread. The latter being me a little bit hasty and as nalc said, it was mostly right after the event took place.

No excuse. I have no desire to host a Maxus event here in MA. Why? Well, it makes sense for Maxus to be at least somewhat close to the center of the Continental US. So that way most regions can drive a decent amount and all meet in the middle. I actually was going to chime in with what SLCPunk267 said and agree that TN would be great next year if someone does not want to do it on the West Coast.

I merely said this for comparison for Corey. I was there at 09 in the big crowd in front of the stage as Aaron and Corey presented trophies. This just shows one of the differences between 09 and 2010.

i noticed that the site was lacking in info so I was there in my audi (yes that's me in the silver A4) at 7:05 to make sure everyone was there. did you not see me? i drove around the area to check to make sure no one was lost. you're an adult...you can bring directions. you can ask people. corey was late...you can't control traffic. if i had some name tags and etc w/ me i would've got it before. if i knew earlier i would've went to the store and bought something. did you want me to bring dora the explorer to greet you or maybe barney? i wasn't made aware of the issue corey had but i did what i could to make sure you guys were ok for the meet and greet.
I'm not a fan of Dora the Explorer or Barney, but thank you for the offer. You'll notice that the map was posted 06-25-2010 at 2:23 PM. Clearly you knew that because you posted it there. At 2:23 PM most of us were on 95 heading towards the hotel. I didn't check the Maxus section or website the entire drive. Why should I have to? For last minute info?
You did meet me and the rest of the NH/RI/CT caravan when we pulled in front of the Walmart with your A4 and we do appreciate it.

I can't comment on the racing because I didn't take part in it. Again, I was hasty in my first posting and realize that now, but let me rephrase and say that I was disappointed in several aspects of the event on Saturday that I took part in. If it was all about what I want, I wouldn't be the only one speaking in this thread which was clearly made because there are many other people disappointed.

BTW i was there at the track...why didn't someone say something to me? hey those guys are not really doing well w/ the car show..or something?
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, for 2010 I didn't see a thread asking for members to join the committee. If I had seen a thread months in advance before the site was "done" and banners went up, I would have gladly made 10-20 different logo designs so we could vote and choose.

I never said the entire weekend sucked, etc... I just got disheartened from occurances at the Maxus events I attended. It's over, what's done is done, and I had fun otherwise.

Honestly, I don't think many people would go up to the admin/organizers/judges and say that the car show was being done wrong while waiting to be judged or expect an award. I personally assumed that since there were rules in place set months in advance, they would be followed, that's all. The mannerisms that we saw around our cars are separate.

At the end of the day, I don't want to argue forever about this event. I merely mentioned this stuff to hope that whoever organizes and attends Maxus 2011 or whenever the next is makes note and attributes it to improve on our events. I have no grudges with anyone, and only hope it helps. If there is a Maxus 2011 committee, sign me up and I'll do as much as I can.

ok but it's minor difference and you're really picking on things.

well i called Megan Fox but but she was getting hitched so she was out.
yup last min i saw there was no map posted on the website i came on last min as a last ditch effort to provide more info. then i figured it was probably too last min so i went to NJ from NY to meet you guys.

I can't comment on the racing because I didn't take part in it. not saying that the car show didn't fail...but i just wanted to open your eyes that there were other things going on during the car show.

No need.
ok

you're right...there wasn't a thread. some people PMed corey and asked if they can help. that's call taking initative. instead of sitting on the sidelines and complain you can get in the game. if you saw there was an issue or a problem about something then go in and help. if you felt that "hey i paid my 20 i shouldn't have to work" then i'm sure corey would've refunded your $ for helping out.

I never said the entire weekend sucked, etc... I just got disheartened from occurances at the Maxus events I attended. It's over, what's done is done, and I had fun otherwise.
ok well i'm glad there was some fun in your weekend.

Honestly, I don't think many people would go up to the admin/organizers/judges and say that the car show was being done wrong while waiting to be judged or expect an award. I personally assumed that since there were rules in place set months in advance, they would be followed, that's all. The mannerisms that we saw around our cars are separate.
why not? there's something you see that's not right then raise your hand and be like wtf is going on? but i'm not going comment anymore on this because we all agree the car show failed.

At the end of the day, I don't want to argue forever about this event. I merely mentioned this stuff to hope that whoever organizes and attends Maxus 2011 or whenever the next is makes note and attributes it to improve on our events. same here...again i do appreciate your feedback when you're calm about it. people do the knee jerk reaction and that accomplishes nothing. you met me in person...i'm a reasonable person. i have no hidden agendas. i just want to make sure people get along and have a good time. if something is not right then say something right there and then. like if someone is posting something wrong...they click on report post and it's taken care of ASAP. if you don't say anything and we don't know about it...nothing will happen.

were you the one asking me about a liquor store near by or that was someone else from your group? it's hard to put screen names to faces.

This is because most everyone that has never planned anything doesn't realize what it takes, they think everything should be like SEMA or HIN and such..

I'm looking into the possibilities of having Maxus in Central Florida, I have already looked at various locations for various events, so far my contacts have been rather excited by the idea of having a couple of hundred Maxima's at their track/restaurant/fairground.

I've already contact DanNY with my basic idea, and will give him a more complete plan on Friday.

It's the Vacation Capital of the World for a reason (and 49 Million tourist already know this each year.)

I'll be down for Maxus in FL. I'd probably keep a week or two free so I could spend time there.

But on a serious note:
I was the one on the radio that was saying stop for gas. but lets get this story straight. I said this b4 we left the hotel, b4 we left liberty park, b4 leaving liberty for the second time, while lost in the city, and while passing the exit TWICE. All i was told was "we will try". Unfortunately, what you all didnt know was that i wasnt the 1 that needed gas. There were several others who did, i was simply looking out for them and others who were in need of gas and toll money. I even paid for 2 members to get thru tolls, and turned around to find a member who had no nav or radio that was lost after running out of gas. That was not the leader of the pack, that was me!! We passed 6 gas stations. Would it have killed us to stop at one and perhaps find our exact route instead of taking a tour through NJ streets. Please dont take this as a bash, or me pointing fingers but im alittled pissed that this story is being told as if we werent aware of this b4 hand. Sure we should have filled up b4 hand, but if the shoe was on the other foot, would you want me to leave you just because i dont want to stop yet?? This coming from the same guy who took time out of his day during maxus 09 to lead NYC maxs back to rt301 after waiting for all of them to fill up at the shell gas station!!!! If you dont remember, i was the guy in the black G37!!
And please refrain from the name calling! I have respect for everyone! But if you didnt voice your opinion in person that day as i voiced mine, then there no reason for e-thuggery now.
Thanks in advance
Your friend
Jay-Pee!
p.s. had to add sarcasm for good measure!
Thanks for the help buddy. Ran out of dough for the tolls. Glad we ended up passing a gas station, I had no idea where we were at or going!

shut up dude?
i'm not going to...what are you going to do about it?

like i said...if they didn't do anything when you asked nicely then you should have made a big deal and not just stand there and start the car. what is starting the car going to do?

did you not read what i wrote? you have every right to be upset and again you should've done something if nothing happened after you asked nicely. why wait 3 days later to post about it on the org? should've swatted that box off your car like the next karate kid or something. if you didn't do that then what is posting on the forum 3 days after the fact going to do now? is your paint going to heal that you posted on the forum or something? you want corey to pay to repaint your truck?

calm yourself down....did i say anywhere that the car show didn't suck? i even said that the car show failed.

you still want to see the receipt of the 5K track fee that you didn't believe corey paid for? oh wait someone said it costs that much and you're all of the sudden dropping that and making fun of the car show now? (which i did say that it failed). what else do you have?

i'm glad you had fun...but the trunk ordeal could've been solved right then and there if you took matters in your own hands. no one would've faulted you for making a big deal. your car is not a t-shirt stand...i get that.

shut up dude? that still cracks me up.

I just want to let you guys know Me and the Ct crew had a blast!!!! I didnt really pay all that much attention to the car show cuz me and the other Ct guys were on the track most of the day..i had 8 runs and my boy Josh got in somewhere around 14 i think....where can you go and get that many runs in one day for 35 bucks???? We were in the lot talkin to DanNY for awhile b4 we left, just letting him know we appreciate all that you guiys had to go through to get this together. And we made sure to walk over to Corey and say thanks. As far as the Midnight run someone told us that it was called off until i got a text from Yonnie that he was on the run....Me and Josh headed back to Ct early as **** sunday mornin so we missed out on the BBQ. like i said...if they didn't do anything when you asked nicely then you should have made a big deal and not just stand there and start the car. what is starting the car going to do?
because i was already very aggrivated at the point and i was trying to be polite at the time...simple as that...i could have been like

"ayo ***** get ur **** off my car. but instead i decided to be nice. blowing up would have just ruined my night.

although i will say this. i did appreciate you keeping us updated on coreys whereabouts and stuff cuz if you hadnt...most of us would have left, thinking he wasnt coming at all.

hey if being polite doesn't work...there's always brute force (i don't mean hit the woman either).

i didn't want you guys to miss out on the schedule of events (pamphlets). i kept calling him every 15 min to see where was he at b/c i knew you guys wanted to go.

sleep in the cars? no car thefts and don't have to pay for a hotel (shower and bathroom you have to figure out)

post edit - i think if you said "ayo....!!" it would've DEFINITELY got her attention..if not it would've gotten mine and i would've came over.

idk i agree with wat everyone is saying. i had a BLAST... just not saturday from 10am - 6pm. but the ppl there were awesome. it was great putting faces next to names finally. poorly organized. the passing out of awards had to be the worst organized thing ive ever seen. whoever it was who lifted up the paper and was like "this is what i have to deal with"... well u guys shouldve wrote down 1st place ___ 2nd place____... simple as that.

im not even gonna get into my winnings since u guys said "second place heavily modded. Claude" then u said "1st place heavily modded..... uhhhhh.... " then u proceeded to do the track results. THEN u went back to 5th gens again. then finally u said "ok second place heavily modded 6th gen... dave" no1 said anything but u said second place TWICE. SO WHO GOT FIRST???? dont get me wrong claudes car is sick, but he even came up to me after and was confused.

but new england def reppd hard and i think all of u are bashing on us cuz we are complaining after sitting in traffic for six hours, i think we have the right to say whatever we want. and ON THAT NOTE - next year should stay EAST COAST. we deserve it. yeah the show sucked, but that doesnt mean i would miss next year. it happens - one year good, one year sucks.. **** it it happens. NYCmaximas were supposed to roll a lot deeper. even NE peeps backed out.

another thing - SO MANY CARS DIDNT SHOW because they were confused about $$. the lady at the entrance fcked sht up. she said yup! $20 to show... uh no.

but overall i still had a blast.

i'm not going to beat a dead horse but to sum it up i agree with you.

please don't make us responsible for your 6 hour traffic coming down...we didn't create the traffic for you so you would have to struggle in traffic. so please don't blame us for the traffic you experienced coming down.

you sitting in traffic doesn't give you more or less of a right to complain but you're more than welcome to do so here.

ILL SAY THIS AGAIN. I HAD AN AMAZING TIME IN NEW JERSEY. I MET SOME AWESOME MEMBERS FROM ALL OVER THE EAST COAST. ID DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. I JUST WISH THE MAXUS PART OF THE TRIP WAS BETTER ORGANIZED.
Look I respect how you feel about your car! But lets get one thing understood it wasn't right to put anything on your car!! I was the one driving the Escalade, I was standing right there and there was never any box on your car just cotton shirts! If there was a box not saying it was right it was a for a breif second!! Also lets stop with the sugar coating **** you said to the ladies "I am not trying to be a D!CK but I am about to leave" and they said ok! Then you started your car and sat there with car running for awhile before you truley left! So I guess thats your way of saying something nicely? Now all this extra Shyt your doing on in this thread is not needed. We get your point, if the shirts on your car was that big of deal to you then you would have been a d!ck and said something to Corey then!!! I dont think those F***ing shirts wouldn't scratch the clear on your car or any car for that matter. Change your pad and move on... Sorry for being a D!ck!! I hope this will be the last of the shirts /box on your car because its getting real old! This thread is about the problems with maxus, if you have a personal issue bring it to the people who organized it via PM!!!! Stop talking about the same shyt over and over!!!!!

I had a great time. I think if there is a maxus next year it should stay east coast and instead of venting about maxus 2010 people should think about how to make maxus 2011 better. The organizers did everything they could to organize it and the problems that happened were not there fault. I thought at first it was supposed to be 20 per person till someone told me it was 20 per car. I found out i was right. It makes sence tho. I don't remember how it was for Maxus 09 because I didnt have a passenger last year. I did have a problem that the person at the box told me i had paid 20 to get in, 20 for the show and 15 to race so when i got in I did argue a little with the people at the stand to enter into the show until we all found out what happened. (I appologize about that.) it was not the fault of anyone running Maxus tho! I understand too that the staff was short because people didn't come. Had I been told that was the case I would have helped as much as I could but not everyone was made aware of it till after we left the track.

I did enjoy Maxus a lot tho and hope there is another one next year. I thank all the people who put it together for organizing it.

can't we all just leave things alone, just let it be. DanNy, don't even stress it dude. You don't have to answer to all these comments. Just let people vent and then it will die out.
