Honestly, I am not trying to be a d!ck or anything, but why hasn't Corey said anything in defense to these comments?

Again, Dan you've done a great job justifying everything (and the meet would have been a total train wreck without your presence), but I was expecting Corey to make at least a few comments/replies since he was the one making the thread and taking full responsibility for the meet itself.

And I am not stirring **** up, I am simply just wondering.

it's ok...i know he's reading all this but i asked him not to add fuel to the fire. i'm sure he would want to respond but it might not be as nice coming from him instead of me since he did put a lot of his own $ and effort into the entire set up.

so to keep the conversation civil and calm i'm going to respond to your comments instead of him...hope that's ok.

also...to he honest he can't be the only person solely responsible for the meet itself. sure there are things that could have been done better but IMO the community as a whole should make the effort to make the meet what it is. a meet is nothing w/o the community (people) who attends. it's like going to a club/social event where you don't know anyone. you'll just have to be outgoing and introduce yourself and strike up conversation. your choice what you want to get out of it. some came to race. some came to meet people. some came to compete in a car show. some came to just watch everything. some came to get a nasty sun burn (me..LOL). that's why some had a blast, some had a bad time, some wish they never came. corey was just the person that got the venue set up and got people together. so you can't blame HIM alone.

Dan

i'll give it until early next week (or until someone goes postal here)...so at least they had a full week to complain about it and vent their thoughts/anger/frustration. let them vent...i'm giving them the chance to do it now or forever hold their peace (until next week or the weekend).

if i close it too early they will create their own thread and that's going to more for me. okie dokie?

so go out and have a happy 4th and don't blow off any body parts.

I honestly think it might be beneficial in a way to let people vent too. a ton of people are giving ideas that might work for Maxus in the future. I think everyones saying it too early tho...i mean i went on here at like 3am the NIGHT OF THE SHOW and people already started venting. if it was a little after people would have just given suggestions instead of complaining.

i think after everyone calms down about this we should look at the ideas in these 2 threads. i personally like the one someone brought up the nissan plant. its farther away but how cool would it be to see the nissans being assembled? maybe it wouldnt work next year or until maxus is better recognized but in the future that would be pretty cool.

1) I was 1 of many who had every intention of going to maxus (from the NE region) but just didnt make it at the end. I had done a few mods to my ride for the event, but last minute crap and a load of bills prevented me from attending. I apologize in that regard.

2) I've never had the opportunity to organize a whole event from A to Z, but I have helped those who have, in example, Hot Import Nights. Simple things can be made difficult, like the whole thing with the Track Fees and where to go , so on. I wasnt at maxus, so I can say much on that. Having everyone involved on the prep work be on the same page is extremely difficult even when there are standards in place.

3) For those who say "shut up" or "stop complaining", this is a thread for that purpose, but lets not take this as a negative thing. Take all the bad things that occur so that they can be prevented (or kept to a minimum) for what Im hoping Maxus 2011.
Yes, organizers will not be able to make everyone happy. Everyone has different ideas and expectations. I would def agree that for the next maxus a special committee be setup, have a thread on ideas for the meet and just have an open communication about the event.

4) Lastly, the issue with showdown and the box (or shirts). When the Boston crew has a meet, everyone is respectful of each others rides. No one lays a finger unless its been clear to proceed.

In the end, you guys had fun, I was stuck @ home not doing anything, haha. Lets just move on!

I do not understand why some people are so petty that they hang on to their childish, adolescent behavior even into adulthood.

You have resorted to name calling which in my opinion is very immature of you. I do not know you and you certainly do not know me, however you have just started something I am about to finish. You called me an IGNORANT woman, I see you waited until you got back to MA before you started name calling, what were you afraid of? I could have shown you how ignorant i can be.

You need to grow up, you are acting like a b!tch. Dude is your period on or something! How are you going to tell that lie? I didn’t NOT sit a box on your piece of **** car. Yes granted it may have been wrong of me to sit a anything on your car let alone a cotton t-shirt on your car, but you weren’t even man enough to state your real reason for asking me to move the shirts. You stated and I quote “I don’t mean to be a d!ck, but I am about to leave, so can you move your shirts off my car, I don’t want to pull away and your shirts fall off”. Granted I didn’t jump when you asked, however you didn’t have to ask multiple times and your lying (__|__) sat in the car for another 45 minutes. I don’t care if we pulled up in a murcielago, ooops in case you’re stupid (__|__) don’t know what that is it’s a Lamborghini, your piece of junk was there and accessible.

This crap has gone on too long and for WHAT, because your cheap, no, probably just broke, if you couldn’t afford the $20.00 to get into the track you should have stayed your broke (__|__) home and kept your piece of shyt car there too. It’s people like you that give events a bad name. I don’t care what you thought about the car show or the entire event, my concern is that you are not a man, but a little girl that has resorted to name calling and bytching and complaining about WHAT!!?!?! and while you’re at it, check your cheap a** wing, I think it fell off when I took the shirts off! You all are some ungrateful b@stards!

Trust I have better things to do with my time then to deal with your ignorance, I have no intentions of coming back here to respond to anything else you have to say, since you called yourself a d!ck, I will continue calling you that, take some advice,
1. Go change your rag, your bleeding all over the org and nobody cares.
2. Getting up at 5am to clean that piece of **** car was a waste of your time, it would have been better spent figuring out where you were gonna get some money from, you cheap bastard.
3. Since you are a d!ck and an (__|__) hole, stick yourself up your own a$$ and use some common sense to figure out how you’re gonna wipe the shyt off your face!!!!!!

Now go put your big girl panties on and act like an adult!! Have a nice day!

dude, what she was saying , as ignorant as what he said was that he was lieing. she never put a box on his car. She did sit some shirts on his car and she apologized that night for it. 3 days later, after the event, he posted it was a box. There are more than 5 people that can vouch for her and the shirt incident. The problem with this entire thread is that we all know the turnout was low, we all know that they ****ed up, not me, the car show, and we know what the mass guys issues were with the cost. I was very nice to them the day of the event and gave them concessions. Still in the end the tried to get over and decided later on to e thug the entire event. If they talked to me the day of the event the way they talk on the internet, they would have been riding in one of the 2 ambulances at the track. Its plain BS.
Truly several people told me not to let them in a send them home but I was the nice guy. Showdown even came to me and said i dont want to be a D!ck but its the principle. WTF?! Now i truly realize, nope, thats what he is! For being the nice guy I get slammed on the org. Its just the last time i ever do anything for the org. At one time i even payed the majority of the hosting for the org because of my "love" for the community. Now, F*ck IT!

Cool

After all the anticipation of this years location, its sad to read how it went down. My problem is in all the bashing of the vendors and organizers. We dont have many people even looking out for this community to begin with, and to bash on our own people is the worst. It gives us all a bad name honestly.

* Bish is right tho, the Maxima scene in ny is dying down. Perhaps if held a few years ago it would have went down differently.

lmao although i want to say something. im going to refrain and just laugh it off. this man told me if i spoke to him like that in person i would have been in an ambulance. does that not seem funny to anybody else? why the **** would i drive all the way to jersey to attend maxus...just to get in a fight with the man running it and then be asked to leave. i bit my lip for most of the event. i tried to have a good time...so i avoided confrontation. corey, if you want to come up here and we can talk it out in person, im more than down. i dont see a need to because the event is long gone, but if you wanted to id b more than willing.

Is *that* what all this is about... a cotton t-shirt?

That has to be the most road-rage filled first-post I've ever read. And ironically, just as immature as the accusations. Angry people spitting at each other with indignation. Not fun.

Meh. After this tirade, some would say this thread has just about reached the end of its usefulness.

Ms. Redlinemax ROFL! AGAIN ROFL!

Corey- Im glad we even had an all maxima event to attend. Even though we DC,PGMAX see each other everyday.

Next, Maxus NYC was dissapointing in terms of attendance but, who can control that. The statement that Maxima ownership or followship is dead. Is dead wrong. I yonstar,Ghostmax, AND I2viscous went to a Dave and Busters Meet when it was like 25 freakin degrees outside in NY. I was amazed at the maybe 200 maximas scrambling through the city. Thats why all of us planned to not miss this year. **** I was so pressed to come, that on the way my ball joint failed and I left my car in Bmore hopped in Ghostmax whip and still came maximaless. Not to mention our max group has grown from like 4 to atleast 12 with newbies popin up everyday, thnx to jaypees stellar performance.lol

Secondly, To complain about $20 per person at the track. Again I ask what freakin tracks do you guys race on??? ome to MIR on a good event and your gonna spill out atleast $40. I mean duhhhhhh! Why dont folks have money especially if you are traveling out of town! wtf! I sat down and calculated total cost of trip+gas+tolls+lodging+food= I have is; and I can attend; or I dont and I wont. You dont have to be a bizness major to know that! To complain about any cost at the events is foolish! Question do we pay dues to be on the org. No! was there a fundraiser to limits cost to us No! Im tired of people expecting **** to be free. I was taught at an early age that "NOTHING IN THIS LIFE IS free! some of yall aint learned that yet!

Thirdly, Im kinda on the pack leaders side about the gas situation. For real it was those who had no gas fault. The smart thing would have been for those and they are in my crew. To wake up early and go get gas then come back to the hotel people. This is a dagger to my own crew. We are consistantly late b/c issues like this be prepared folks and dont get mad when you get left! You won't tell and airline of "can you hold the plane for me, I need gas".

All in all I enjoyed hangin out in NY/NJ!

After reading through this mess, I can't say I'm anything but stunned.

I can't believe that a community of car enthusiasts...One of the smallest communities of enthusiasts, I'm sure, could let itself become so torn apart over one weekend.

Really, guys? I thought as Maxima fans/owners we were supposed to be in this together. Yeah, sure, maybe some things got screwed up. But how often does everything go exactly according to plan? I can honestly only think of a time or two when I've taken a vacation/trip, been to a show, etc, and everything went off perfectly.

This kind of petty garbage is what's making our community as a whole continue to shrink. Not grow like it should. So Maxus was that bad for you? Well, grin and bear it. And hope for the best next year. Maxus wasn't a required org-wide gathering. You chose to go.

If y'all keep up like this, the Maxima community is eventually just going to cease to exist. Not that it matters, because it seems personal gain is more important than communal benefit around here as of late.

I think if you took a poll, you'd find a huge majority here would agree with this sentiment. It's one thing if you handed me a stack of shirts and I set them gently on my hood, and noone else was allowed near the stack to slide them around, even that, I don't know if I'd apreciate shirts stacked up on my hood.

...my kids get lit up every time they lean on my car or get to close with their bikes, and that's just in my driveway with a car that's not even show worthy.

I don't mean to pick sides in this, because I don't really care to get involved in something I didn't attend...but, I agree with this sentiment.

So this in unnecessary, plain and simple. Sure, a lot of us, were angry after the day in question, but most treated you with respect. I chose to leave the cost discrepancy out of my posts because it was taken care of properly, and based on other posts, the Mass/RI/CT guys weren't the only ones to note the difference. I'll leave it at that. No threats were made to you, so calm down please. "e-thugging" is worst when it's a two-way street.

I finally read the Ms. Redlinemax post, and it is pretty shocking. Showdown says you're ignorant for... neglecting t-shirts (apparently not a box, whatever) sitting on his car after he asked politely, and it's completely out of line, right? Now, showdown drives a POS, which he shouldn't detail and he apparently is on HIS time of the month. I think everyone here knows what a Murcielago is, thanks cars.com.

Have a nice day!
first of all i didnt read this at first because i didnt think it could have been that bad. ur trying to defend urself because you put something on someone elses car. DONT! take responsibility for your actions. if you needed to put shirts somewhere in any parking lot would u put them on someone elses car? I DONT THINK SO! ITS RUDE! its someone elses car. you wouldnt want anyone else to put stuff on YOUR car! its common courtesy! Idk who you learned your manners from but DONT TOUCH OTHER PEOPLES STUFF UNLESS THEY TOLD YOU YOU COULD!

you also called his car a piece of ****. actually you pretty much called all maximas a piece of **** because there not lambos. so why where you even at a MAXIMA show if you dont like them? no one at Maxus had a piece of **** car. I do think people should stop complaining but that wasnt the way to tell people. ur just adding to the fire! people feel like they need to vent and let them. thats y this thread was made! Some good WILL come out of it. ideas are being tossed around and ways to fix what they think. Maxus involves everyone that was there from the time they checked in the hotel to the time they left to go home. People on the org should give there opinions on how to make it better. and the answers people are getting, at least for me, helps to understand y things happened. that was enough for me. it should have been for everyone else too.

We were not upset about the actual pricing, just that it was completely different than what Corey told us the previous night. If he told us it was going to be $20 per head, then we would have been prepared to pay that and not complained, plain and simple.

How about parasols for that oppressive heat? You know, frilly little umbrellas with the Cattman logo on them?

No wait... that probably wouldn't go over well.
