one question...WHY would you sell that thing for an SRT-4?? i mean, they're fast, but the quality of those things are crap....and i'm sure the max will last a bit longer than an SRT-4 would....it's a nice and REALLY rare car you have there (both the color and the 6-speed are rare for 5.5 gens) If i were you, i would keep it a bit longer...

Thanks for the posts!! Actually I have been researching the srt-4's a while, maybe interior quality isn't great but really I haven't heard ANYBODY regret getting the srt-4. I was suprised there really are no big common problems with the car. There are more problems with the wrx and max then the srt-4. I'm only 23 and I want something turbo that is cheaper to mod. I mean with $1000 or less the srt-2 can be running low 13's easily. Plus they aren't going to make the car anymore so unlike the max resale value will be good with this car for when I trade up later on to a G35 coupe

a major step down IMO. It's like trading your sporty sedan for a kiddy toy.
Faster? yea anything can be really fast... If you want to get into modding, why do you want a newer car to do it? Get something serious like an rx7/corvette/something exotic and not expensive.

Just my opinion.

Well i need a car with more then 2 seats something a little roomy. I know your thinking srt-4 = neon and isn't roomy but look at the specs it is roomier then a rex. Now you say get a rex, well i am considering it but it is more expensive and 2002-2003 i hear alot of tranny probs and 2004 may be out of my range (about 18,000 tops). I need something that is inexpensive to mod, something with the best power to dollar ratio. For under $1000 i can get an srt-4 in the low mid 13's. I also want a newer car, and a turbo. Also the srt-4's are pretty damn reliable, i haven't heard of any real common probs, nothing major at least. If you have any other suggestions i am open but i haven't found anything else in the range of things i want.

american car plus turbo= wont last long at all, good luck at 60k miles, blown turbo with all the otheramerican parts that will need to be replaced. i want a 5spd turbo too, i mean i rather get a nice low mileage elcipse gst over that because american cars are built to last a certain amount of time, and the resale value sux

I am pretty positive i am getting another car whether its an srt-4 or not but i haven seen on the forums guys with that many miles without any major probs. The gst's i am pretty sure aren't that reliable, i mean mitsu isn't that great with reliability, and i really want a newer car then that. Also resale? i wouldn't talk about resale with the max KBB for my car trade in is like 8000 on a car that was worth 28,000 3 years ago. If you guys can show me a major prob with the srt-4 let me know and i will be sure to stay away, thanks for the advice.
