Few pics of my Q45

I just got my engine runing today and while I was out crusing in the car making sure everything was all good- complete engine overhaul with lots of $$$ involved... I decided to snap some pics for the Q45 forum, and post them here too. Suspension is stock for now, 18x8.5 HP EVOs with some cheezy tires (got the combo for almost free), engine is 100% factory at this very moment, but this will change very soon. I got some rust on the body to fix, nothing too bad. I bought the car on Ebay 6 months ago for 900 bux, engine needed head gaskets due to car overheating.

Looking good Mike. Question. Why are there throttle cables on both sides of the intake manifold?

The gigantic 90+mm throttle body that this car has only has one throttle drum on it, so they put a set of throttle drums on the other side of the intake manifold that have gas pedal linkage and cruise controll all hooked up, and off that throttle linkage is a throttle cable going to the throttlebody. Its kinda weird but I can rev up the engine from the pass side of the motor without touching the throttlebody itself.

Tips are OEM Acura TSX ones, stockers are very small and didn't look right on a car this size.

I am going to drop the car possibly this week if I have enough time, I have ALOT of suspension parts to install, this car shares MOST of its suspension design with the 300ZX, 240SX and Skylines, so pretty much everything is a direct bolt on- but the sway bars. I have a hube box of SPL parts that will make this thing a killer handing car once I dial in the proper aligment and get some larger tires

Nice Q you got there. What are your plans for the engine? What suspension pieces are you getting?

Originally I was just going to keep it stock, but I never owned a car that didn't get some kinda performance treatment- I'm an addict !

So I am going with custom headers that I designed, BRM catback exhaust, Mossy Pulleys, K&N drop in with stock airbox (works best in such hot engine compartment), NICO tunned ECU and soon TCM, Billet Specialties light weight torque converter, and 150 shot of N2o.

For suspension I got SPL radius rods, SPL upper arms on the front. Rear toe arms and camber arms from SPL, SPL rear subframe bushings, ES suspension front subframe, swaybars and steering rack bushings, Cal Custom 2" drop heavy duty lowering springs with Tokico shocks, 94 Q45 "Touring Edition" rear sway bar, and JW front strut tower brace. I have most of this stuff ready to go on the car, just waiting for some dust boots for my shocks and few bushings to show up.

Its a BIG heavy car so I don't expect any KILLER 1/4 times out of it, but if its able to run high 12s at over 110MPH I will be happy- gearing is not optimal for drag racing on this car- I can get to 55MPH in 1st gear, 100MPH in 2nd, 142MPH in 3rd and speed limiter kicks in at 150MPH- with stock ECU. Most guys with some of the mods I have are able to break 165MPH+ on fairly stock cars with ECU upgrade. I gave her a small run today and she didn't even break a sweat at 140MPH even with the tach saying 4500RPM out of 7K.

Love those Q45s. If I could, I'd have one as my weekend cruiser alongside my Maxima.

So you're getting the NICO ECU and TCM? I read the thread on it a while ago.

They are underrated at 278HP/280PS- Japanesse HP limit back then. Its widely known that these motors produce 320HP, really sing when the VTCs kick over. I always thought my Maxima was fast on the highway, but the Q might give it a good run, it takes litteraly no time to get up into 140s from 80MPH.

I really like the car, I have had offers from people who wanted to buy it for 6-7K and I won't sell it.

Beautiful car....my parents bought a '91 new back in the day when they first came out and my dad still misses that car. It truly was a rocket and was a blast to drive. It was that same pearl as well with the optional Fittipaldi wheels. They now have a 2002 that isn't nearly as fun to drive.

Q45s love the higher speeds. For being about 1000lbs more heavy than the max, they can sure get upto the triple digits quicker.
