it's big...too big....but with the right suspension setup, shaved tires, light wheels, and an experienced driver, it can do OK. Good low-end torque is useful in autocross. Not going to win or place high in many events, but a few maximas have done ok...BEJAY1 goes to SCCA nationals every year in his 4th gen and places middle-of-the-pack.

You know we have an autocross and road racing forum here on the org, right?

I'd rather have a sportscar for autocross, but this is what I have right now, so I'll use the maxima

it wasn't a very big class...but if I had raced in my "correct" class (STX) my time would have put me in 4th or 5th out of 15-20 cars....

Pretty Awesome. Cool seeing the maxima perform around those turns. Might save some of these pics.

the wheels look alot better in motion then when standing still, that's for sure.

Bauer actually WON the novice class (out of about 25 cars entered) and was about a second or so behind my time (pretty good, considering my setup is much better for autocross - though his car has more power).

Who is IS?

He effectively has a Stage I. He used to have a Stage II but cut the back portion off, leaving only the front tie bar.

5 runs...zero cones hit

VQ356 - I've had the stage 1 and stage 2 bars (they are the same height from the ground) with Maxspeeds, and have never scraped them, except one time when straddling a curb. I'm about to drop a bit lower with Progress springs, and don't expect that I'll scrape then either. The onlytime you'd have a problem is if you're really slammed on coilovers.
