Check out my new Maxima! Sort of...
Well, I was going to wait to post pictures of this after I got my new wheels on for summer and some lighting goodies that are currently in the mail, but I am just too freakin excited!
As most of you probably didn't know, my car was a '99 SE 5mt in the lovely Sunlit Sand color. While I don't have anything against that color (I wouldn't have originally bought it if I did), the paint job was in sad shape. It was missing the clear in random spots, had quite a bit of paint damage from the previous owner scraping against a parking pole, and the paint was flaking off on the back bumper more and more every time I washed the damn thing.
To cut a long story short, I got a quote that I just could not pass up about 2 weeks ago. Here is the end result as of this afternoon!
Before (if you look closely you can even see some of the paint damage on the back driver's corner of the bumper):
Aaaaand....drum roll please.....
AFTER!
If you're interested, here is a link to my local forum with a thread on the project:

I was shooting for a close match to the factory Crimson Blaze color on '99.5 SE-Ls, and this came out pretty close in my opinion. I am very VERY happy with it!
I was thinking of going with a smoked theme for the lights, however the clears are starting to grow on me. What do you guys think?

That looks awesome. Don't they usually take off all lights and stuff like that when painting? From that thread, looks like they just taped it on...how does the engine bay look? When i'm done with performance mods and wheels, i'm doing a paintjob so i want to know what the easiest way to do it is.
What are your summer wheels going to be?
One more thing. How much did the paint and clearcoat itself cost WITHOUT the labor?

Yeah, due to my limited budget the car was pretty much just masked and sprayed. For a proper full respray you could strip the lights, etc.
At the moment the engine bay, door jambs, and such are not sprayed. I plan on doing them myself to match once the weather gets warmer. Gotta try out my new compressor setup.
The splash guards were removed during paint (why I'm not sure). If you check the after pics I thankfully don't have red wheel wells. The fog light covers were an "oops" on my part.
Not sure what I'm doing with rims yet. I'm trying to pick up a set of 17x7 ADR Fuels (gunmetal with polished lip) locally, if that fails then it's back to the search. The steelies are just on for winter.

I wasn't overly concerned with the lights and such being removed since I have their replacements sitting in the closet. As for chipping around the edges, it's a concern, but I didn't have the $4k+ to do it the the "complete" way. I just wanted it to look a bit nicer for daily driving, and it definitely worked.

nice paint job...
question: did you guys paint the car in that garage or was it actually in a paint booth??
none the less, congrats... for rims, what about black with red? ( black spokes with anodized red lip)?
