Is that for real

WOW! Is that real? Did you really get the 3.5 in there? I have a 240sx that I always thought should have a 3.0 or 3.5 in it, but I've never seen it done. Seeing your setup it makes me think that someone could do it if they had the ability. Which I don't.

Looks amazing.

btw how did you mount the gauges and what did you use for the gauge cluster?

gauge cluster is from an NX1600. Defi gauges are hot-glued around the border to a plexiglas sheet, the sheet was painted prior to mounting the gauges with 3 holes left unpainted.

I fixed it earlier today. The ECU had a bad injector driver. I switched it to a different output and for the first time I fired it up with 6 working cylinders.

Same exhaust tone, just smoother. the idle is very smooth, acceleration is very smooth, revs up 2x as fast and sounds like a 350Z with a modified exhaust.

The thing flies, comfortably in the 12s.

wow, must have been a wiring nightmare. was it hard to get the gauges to work, and are they accurate?

and what ecu are you using? or is the aem a standalone?

First the good stuff. Had the car 2.5-3 weeks running and tuned. When it was tuned, I was told the car is very fast and will be faster with a better tune. The car sounds pretty badass, It's easily in the 13s, makes every passenger **** a brick, even with multiple passengers in the car. I lose a little traction shifting to 2nd and 1st is insane. The plugs just got their first changing tonite.

Now the bad news. 5 plugs show normal wear. 1 plug came out shiny and new. After some testing, I'm getting spark in all 6 cylinders, however injector 6 is not pulsing whatsoever. I've traced this all the way back to the ECU. The AEM is not giving me a 6th injector pulse, I've been running 5 cylinders from the very start with just air and spark in cylinder #6.

The good news, once I sort this out, I anticipate the car is going to be ungodly fast.
well at least now we know what a nissan 3.5L V5 can do.. lol.. that is some nice work though man.. i think you'll definitely make 12's with all 6 cylinders working and a tune

All 6 are working fine now, the AEM has 10 available injector drivers, I just changed to another one, technically I'm using drivers for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8, but 8 is programmed to fire when 6 normally fires. Runs good, runs clean, smooth everywhere. I'm claiming 12s now, of course, that's dependent on if I can hook quick enough.

Vids when I can, the wiring was, somewhat a nightmare, but really, the alarm, locks and windows ate up more time than anything. It's hand wired from head to toe, the primary harnesses are all behind the firewall which moves the weight back a little among all the other stuff that's been removed or relocated. The RPMs are exactly accurate with the reading off the AEM, the Speedo, I think is off, but I'm not sure how much, really. I know it reads a little fast but lately, I've been taking it verbatim b/c it does have a tendency to creep up on high speeds without me realizing it.

As of today, I have successfully given about 25 people near heart attacks by having them ride in the passenger seat. A few of them had a tendency to curl up into a ball. 90% of those people only know the car when it was running on 5 cylinders.

With some tricky manifold piping ideas, looks like there may be plenty of room to boost that 3.5 - funds permitting.

I think I finally have all issues worked out. All 6 injectors working. I went through 6 coils diagnosing a little problem I've been having. Apparently, if fuel problems aren't enough, then exploding coils should do the trick.

I assume it was either a bad ground or a bad signal wire, but my coils were blowing 2 at a time and it was the same 2 each time. I did some rewiring and it seems to be working now. Time will tell and time will allow me to trust it again. Still no actual drag runs but I got a video of all 6 cylinders firing so you can hear it:

Nice project, I would love to see any build pics. Is this a DIY or did you farm it out?

BTW, ran at the track on street tires. Cept for the spinning, I think I did rather well. If I were on slicks and maybe a dyno tune, I'd expect 12s:
