How to: Resize Pictures in Windows XP

Ok, so someone in my last thread suggested that I should post a "How to" on resizing pictures. Well here it is...

1.) Go to www.google.com and search for "Image Resizer".

2.) Click on the first link. Should take you to Microsoft's website.

3.) Scroll down until you find the things that I have highlighted in the picture, and click on the link on the right. Its called "Image Resizer.exe"

4.) Save it.

5.) I put it on the desktop, because thats where everything I download goes.

6.) Double click the file, and click next until its is all done. I don't have a screen of this because I already had it installed.

7.) Find the picture that you want to resize. If it is multiples then go ahead and hold CTRL and select which ever you want, and then right click.

8.) New option should be there. "Resize Picture"

9.) Now you have 2 options. Either pick "Medium" or "Large". The pictures in this thread are "Large" but if you have a slow connection definitely pick "Medium" because it will take a long time to upload.

10.) Upload this file onto photobucket or imageshack or where ever you want.

Then your all set. Now people won't complain about the picture you uploaded being way to big.

If you need help uploading pictures... use this tutorial I wrote up a few days ago...

the powertoys application is a quick and easy way to adjust, even easier the Paint or anything because you can simply right click the picture file. it will create a duplicate file at the new resolution you set it to. also, you have the option of setting your own resolution..not just using the one of the presets.

I used Image Resizer all the time when I had XP. I wish there was a similar tool for Vista.
