Added another vehicle to the stable
well I have been in the market for a truck for some time now and I was lucky enough to land this one.
It's a 2001 Ford F-150 Supercrew 4x4. Has the 5.4L Triton V8 and the Lariat Package. It has 89,000 miles on the clock. The truck has been a bit of a project since i acquired it. It ran and idled rough, was dirty inside and out, had a cracked foglight, bald tires and the shocks were toast. After a lot of elbow grease I have to where i want it and can now jump in it for home depot runs, haul my tools around and pull my trailer.
When i got it it was only getting 8 MPG
After changing a busted coil pack, spark plugs, air filter, tranny flush, and oil change it got 15.1 MPG through the first tank of gas with the maintenance taken care of (also included 50 miles of towing my 12x6 enclosed trailer). Runs super smooth with the engine running properly, new shocks and tires.
ooh yeah and I just got the front windows tinted 35% to get it to match the rears a little better. Snapped a couple pics today after a wash...nothing special but i am super happy with it now.

Looks sharp, I miss our old 00' F150 5.4. Another culprit of **** idle and running rough is the IAC. That gen of F150 has the most sensitive IAC (5.4 specific) and get pretty gummed up after about 60k miles; won't hurt cleaning that too... 3 bolts, pretty easy to get to. Right behind the TB and to the left.

This truck only gets driven when it needs to be. Which lately seems to be more often with running to the store and hauling stuff around. Also if i do need to drive it to work my office is only 1.2 miles from my house so gas consumption is not a huge deal.
