Phatboislim's Progress Thread
i'm done w/ maximas...nissans for that fact. i'm not going back to an old truck either...at least not now. leaning more towards a tahoe z71 package or maybe an avalanche. if i was banking bigger bucks i'd get a ford f250 turbo diesel or a king ranch
naw...when my transmission went out in a manual...that pretty much told me alot about nissan engineering and how they cared about making a quality product. granted, there are good things about teh maxima, but having come from toyotas...nissan left a bad taste in my mouth. if i had to would i own another maxima? yea, it'd be a fourth gen more than likely, but seeing as though i have a choice, naw
Since you got it at 117K miles, that mean someone else had it for the first 117K and he probably didn't take car of it like you and I do to our cars you know? You did a nice job with it at the middle/end but the maintenance of the initial 100K miles are CRUCIAL to the longevity of the engine/trans. Nissans, like all cars have their problems here and there. It's nothing compared to some issues that sentras like mine have with engines blowing up and what not. Toyota's are badass when it comes to reliability though, I personally love Nissan because I feel they add a "sporty" element to their line of vehicles, from altimas, to frontiers, and to the z's and gtr's. Which is why I chose to buy a maxima before a camry or accord!
I understand what you went through and I'd probably feel the same way..BUT
