correction: 2 piece. i bought them thinking they were 3 piece, so i was a little disappointed. the solution has already been decided on though. president conversion is in the plans.
#44
ah, still they don't look that bad. well, that's all i can say because i don't know what this silly VIP thing is you're trying to accomplish...

yeah... my guess is that's the original tint from 1990. definitely time for replacement. front plate isn't goin anywhere, not tryin to make myself an easier target than i already am (state law).
#52
stereo and tint removal in the immediate future. then it will be all adjustable multi-link (f/r upper and lower control arms, toe arms, tie rod ends, etc), helper srpings to drop the rear, front cup kit (air), and new wheels.

looks real nice.
Is it just the pictures or does the drivers chrome door trim not line up with the rear?
and what is that on the front mud flap? Looks like a white sticker or something?
I am jealous of your weather. Damn you.
6+ inches of snow in the last 48 hours up here.

vip is a tuning style of japanese rwd v8 sedans for the most part. a lot of ppl have a pre-conceived notion of what vip is (big flashy wheels, camber, stretched tires, curtains, etc.) because of it's recent exposure but the truth is it's very open for interpretation and evolving like any other style. however, the core values of vip are fitment (usually flush wheels) and stance (low drop), so yeah.... you pretty much have a grasp on the concept.

the roof is oxidized, i bought the car very cheap with the intention of redoing everything. the finish hasn't got any attention other than a couple washes but it's coming soon. i'll probably have my friend compound the roof to see if i can get some shine back but paint is in the definite plans either way.

for the exhaust i plan to do oval tubing straight pipes for ground clearance. i'm not a huge exhaust tip guy and will probably do stainless turn downs tucked away.

Car looks allot better with the spacers.
Planning on putting on aero along w/ the conversion?

Thanks, kinda thought so. I suppose my take on the matter is that it looks good...as long as you can drive it without having to worry about breaking something, that kind of defeats the purpose.

as of right now i have no plans to do the front end conversion or aero, but that changes all the time.
my take on it is "if it's not low why drive it?".
i'm over retros. they are cool in the fact that they produce more/better light but 99% of retrofits look worse than stock to me and i can live with halogen output.
there is a jdm clear lens option that i was briefly considering but honestly i am not trying to update the look of the car. right now i am liking the old school look and wanting to work with it rather than against it.

mcintosh/subaru jdm double din
dynaudio md130/mw180 (still need mw170 mids and x280 crossovers)
tru steels (need an s44, had one but sold it)

I'm lovin old school.
Man, you aint lyin. I keep goin back and forth with wanting some aero on my car.
Someone asked me why dont I raise it up some so I dont scrape over speed bumps. I replied "what's raise"
At first, I was hell bent on doing a retro. I even went out and got some decent projectors. But looking at my car in particular, a retro is a no go for me. Housing is staying chrome, and so is the grill, door handles, and window trim. 4 months ago, I was gonna color match/black all of that out.
It all depends on the direction you wanna go with the car though. Some cars look great with the above, some dont.

with the a33 (and all gen max/i30/i35 really) i agree it's a hard choice. you're so limited in clean options that sometimes it seems like it would just be a better idea to run low and stock body. problem is even with the floor pan on the ground you still have a huge rocker gap, but at least the 5g have an oem skirt option. i still think what we talked about is the way to go.
