some new mods on the WRX and GT6..

WRX, nothing major - just smoked out the clear section of the taillights to darken the car, going with my blackout theme. Used lamin-x, but not the dark stuff since I actually like people to see my turn signals when they're on...

was going to do the whole taillights, but after a test-fit decided it looked too ricey for my liking

before:

after:

On the GT6....

built a new dash center section with four gauges (fuel, temp, oil pres, amps) to replace the original center section that just had fuel and temp. This winter I will have a complete new custom dash made in mahogany with 1 additional gauge (oil temp), so this is just temporary, so I didn't bother matching the stain color, etc...just blacked it.

also dropped the oil pan, installed new gaskets and front sealing block, tweaked the suspension height a bit, and cleaned out the entire engine..

a few weeks ago also got in the new 14x6 superlite wheels

and took a walk and a swing with lexy..

The back of the WRX always remind me of the Kia Rio lol.
Nice project and a clean ride!

thx....the spring rates and damping is the same on the 09 wrx as on the STi, so it's pretty firm but stil comfortable - I'd say the ride is better than on my 00 maxima with eibachs, illuminas, SFCs, etc etc.....and the wrx handles about 10x better.

Off-boost it feels like a 2.5L 4-banger...not bad, but not a V6. Once boost kicks in full you better be careful that nobody is in front of you because it goes like a ****. Stock 1/4 is in the low to mid 13s if that tells you anything.

I think it's starting to look better now that the chrome strip and badging on the trunk are gone. Starting to look less like a Kia

how about trying it on the clear led brake on the spoiler?
only since you're going for a theme...

yep, I'm going to. Or i might "red" it out...to match the red on the taillights. i'm not a big fan of smoking brake lights. I actually WANT people to see them as bright as possible!

lol, the actual tire diameter isn't even 22"

14x6s....wider than what comes on base civics, sentras, etc. Except this car only weighs about 1800lbs. The 175s I have on there right now for that car are like the equivalent of 275s on a maxima

Agreed, but the nice thing about LED is how bright it is.
I don't how much the color would change since it's the bulbs that are red, rather than the housing.
btw, get a proper license plate frame already! not a fan of those plastic dealer ones, although they are free...

do you really think I'd leave a dealer plate frame on the car?

its from Mach V, one of the best Subaru shops on the east coast....

and yeah, it was a freebie. Paying for license plate frames is FTL.

Wow, such a subtle modification that speakers volumes. Very tasteful! That GT-6 sure is coming along, seems like a very cool project. Cute kid.

wasn't going to do this for a while, but went ahead and installed the Omori boost gauge on the steering column. I like it there so not to be as ricey/visible as a-pillar or dash mount....

matches the stock gauges pretty well too
