That's not a top-mount exposed is it? Make sure not to **** anyone off and have them decide to empty the rest of their Pepsi on it...lol. Enjoy the car.

Which doesn't mean they can permanently be FM ***. I was just wondering. There have been many TP to FM conversions and there are advantagages/disadvantages to both. Chill...

looks good (aside from the canards...). Though I always worry about buying a car that is clearly already modded - especially with an evo/sti or other high-boosted car. P/o might have had it stage 2 on AP running alot of power and you'd never know if he unmated it..

You must not get it... ALL EVOS COME WITH A FMIC FROM THE FACOTRY. That little thing you think is a TMIC is just a vent for the engine.

And believe me i understand the differences between the two, I also have a WRX which is factory TMIC'd.

Being that the car has already been modified, there's a possibility that there could be a TMIC on there. I know they come from the factory FMIC'ed, I'm not naive. This Evo is obviously NOT stock.

All I'm saying is that the pictures do not make it definitive that there is in fact a FMIC on there. Usually, the vents on the hoods are black/dark grey, whereas this one seems to be metal. More than likely it's FMIC'ed, which is why I originally asked if it was a top-mount exposed...just for curiosity's sake.

have them take off those silly canards while you're at it....You'd need to be going 150mph for them to have any significant effect on downforce. And they look dumb.

I was at a stage rally competition a couple years ago and there was an Evo there with a TMIC and custom hood scoop. Though most TMIC cars (WRX esp) switch to FMIC when modding for obvious cooling/airflow reasons, this guy went the opposite route because he kept killing his TMICs with gravel and debris when rallying.

And it was mounted exactly where that vent is on a stock Evo, except he enlarged the opening and covered it with a partial scoop.

Just sayin....

(btw, my WRX TMIC is pathetically tiny )

I can't decide if I want an Evo or a Max right now I went through the whole Evo loving stage but decided that it's a tuner car, and all though I LOVE tuner cars, I don't really have the time/money to make one (I'm still in high school) right now. I have the perfect mods that will make a nasty looking Max, but I'm not sure if my mind is fully set on one right now.. How about you guys who have/do own/ed both help me out

Get a new WRX....they're nearly as fast as an evo, don't have the "tuner" look to them, and have a huge aftermarket available.....

well it all depends on how much cash u have to spend... 1.evos are awesome and just take off the wing and it looks like a normal car but badass lol 2.you dont have to mod a evo its fine just the way it is if u dont have the money to mod it... trust me awd is the **** i had a 2000 max and i crashed it... maximas are really good cars too... i actually wanted a subie but theyre expensive.. its a GSR which would be a SE right??

30k? are you high? maybe for a brand new 08 sti which i would never get but for the 02-03 wrxs, they run as low as 10k now (prob lower for higher mileage) and i've seen plenty of 04-05 sti's for 17-18k

With some options in them they are...

You can get a base WRX for $25k brand new, maybe even less considering this BS economy

Yeah, 30k for a Premium WRX I could see. Probably 27k for a really nice Base model WRX OTD.

i would pick the wrx over teh sti without hesitation. While the hatch can be made to look nicer than stock, the sedan just looks more normal...
