New videos with new exhaust and intake setup.

I haven't been able to record video because I don't have a camera... So I ended up using my sansa as a microphone and my laptop as a video recorder and combined the tracks. Overall it came out really nice! You can see the RPM guage decently in HD. Closed course on a friend's property and shifting easy because of weary clutch.

I am really happy with how my car sounds on the street, now!

Mods are CAI, Kinetix IM + NWP spacers and LIM port matched, Cattman v3 Headers/Y-pipe, 2.5" exhaust (Custom maxima brand) with extra 14" resonator welded in. UTEC tuned to 7200

From a 5mph roll to rev limiter in 3rd, around 95-97 mph

This one is just driving easy then getting on the highway (65 mph). Nothing above around 30% throttle

0-60 MPH launch on cold street tires. Slipping clutch yuck

Poor poor clutch

Nothing worse than a slipping clutch altering your performance! Haha jk man. Your car sounds really nice, and pulls like a champ. Keep up the good work.

Sounds great and the car pulls nice. It sounds just like a cattman V3> cattman fastcat> cattman 2.5" exhaust I heard a while back.

Do you have a test pipe? or are do you still have a cat?

There is no longer a test pipe.

When I welded in the extra 14" resonator (magnaflow), I welded it in place of the test pipe, pushing back the flange from the cat-back to bolt up to the Y-pipe.

I see. Thats proof that we can have a non cattet setup thats not raspy.

Sounds good, I also like the cruising speed...not to overbearing but just enough to make yourself known and sound good!

Maybe an external stationary video?

Definitely! My little straight through exhaust even had zero rasp. You just need a lot of resonator. 2 14" resonators definitely does the job, since that's what I've been using and I can be pretty certain, but I'd wager a single 22" or 26" should do it as well.

Also the closer the resonators are to the engine (further from the exit of the exhaust), the more effective they are. I can't remember why anymore, but that rule of thumb has helped me.

I'll try to hook that up when I have a real camera.

This video was made with a combination of my laptop's video camera and my sansa fuze's microphone, lol!

You're going to need a 2.0-2.1 '60 and a 0 or below 0 DA to pull a 13.5 on those mods + headers with an auto imo. No supra stick?

Our local auto guy has SRI, NWP spacers, vias delete, OBX headers/Ypipe, and exhaust and he was running 14.2@99 as his PB recently.

I'm pretty certain with the mods shown in this video + a new clutch, my car is good for 12.7-12.8s with full trim. No PS + interior stripped and I think it could come really close to matching Jay's time. Problem is my big butt has like 80 lbs on him, haha!

I love how your car sounds in the cruising video. It's pushing me to get headers and full exhaust soon... sigh.

Very much worth it. Go for a 3" with a big resonator!

Honestly I shift at around 6900-7000 rpms. It doesn't feel like there's power above 7k because the stock cams are so wimpy.

I need to get a clutch on this thing and get it on a dyno so I can set optimal shift points.

For all I know, I will be shifting at 6600 rpms with a 6900 rpm rev limiter.

It sounds REALLY COOL at high rpms, but doesn't make much power without cams and supporting mods.

edit: For N/A and nitrous, I'll go with something that has a little overlap and high lift with ported heads and lower IM plus a modified cattman Y-pipe to be a 3" collector. If I go crazy and F/I (super doubtful), I may keep stock or revup cams and ported heads.

I want to get some drive by and launch videos but I'll have to meet up with a friend who has a video camera for that, so I don't know when it will happen.
