I'd add some 15mm spacers to the rear wheels and only lower the front with a set of H&Rs or maxspeeds since they are cheap. Everyone will tell you to get smaller rims in a sec. I think 20s can look decent on our cars tho.

i'm usually not a fan of big wheels but those are looking real nice. first you have to start with price. springs are the cheapest way to lower your car and there are differen't heights depending on the maker. coils will cost more but you get to adjust the height yourself.

Start by trading the 20s in for some 18s.

Then go to the 5th gen forum and read the suspension sticky, which will tell you everything you need to know about dropping your 5th gen.

linky linky: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13

then, if you don't find what you need, post in the 5th gen forum to ask this question....this is really just a "photos of members rides" section...

Dude if you like your rims don't change them just because random people on the net didn't like them. Coilovers are nice if you live in a mild climate where it doesn't snow or get cold, otherwise they are unreliable.

I also agree with the above... I'm not neccesarily a fan of ur wheels or 20's but if u like it don't let nobody on here change ya mind... go get some progress springs and get some lower profile tires... eibachs will work too

well im from Jersey & of course it snows here from time to time so you think they would suck for the cold climate then i may go with the eibach instead...

I would look at springs with a mild drop considering the fact that you are running 20s...maybe Eibach or H&R...I think any drop more than 1.5 in the front and you might run into problems

If you are looking for coilovers...maybe Ksports or Tein SS...but you are looking at around $800-$1000+ for the entire set up.

IMO if I was going to do my suspension over again I would definitely go with coilovers for the adjustable capabilities.

agreed. those 20s arent bad..not everyone on this site wants to track their maxima or race it. do what you feel..now if the choice of chromies are horrible, ill let you know, and i use to say i wasnt a chromie lover, but i must be, because lately i've seen some tasteful chrome wheels and yours are no exception. as far as getting coilovers, unless you plan to eventually track it or something of that sort, i recommend just finding a nice spring/strut combo

I'm going with the coilovers & i'm changing the tire size to 235-30-20's from 255-35-20 that i have now...

you have plenty of room to lower it, I was on staggered 20" wheels and slammed, no rub....... well unless i had to fat girls in the back.

He could even go H-Techs,
I had 20 x 8.5 +38 offset on 225/35/20's in the front and no rubbing issues.

I think 245/30/20s will be fine. They'll be closest to stock height and not be overly stretched, on the 9.5s. I am really surprised you don't have fender and strut rubbing issues man. I've never see 9.5" wheels on the front of a Maxima. Whats the offset??

I was doing some heavy thinking about getting myself a drop and I decided to get BC Coilovers, yeah it's pricey but it's adjustable and I heard good reviews about it. Also Tien SS seems to be liked also. Can't wait to buy the BC.

As for the OP here's a link from NYCMaximas that a member given a review for coilovers if you do decide to go the route to give you an idea of whats there and what may suit you.

http://forums.nycmaximas.org/showthread.php?t=28904

You will have to register if your not a member but it's worth reading IMO.

BC coilovers is the way to go, i think they are the best one out for a 5th gen, my only thing is that from what i heard they are overseas and customer service kinda suck due to length of problem solving.. id love to get em none the less

Well im going to keep my 20's and im going with the coilovers, i feel that it's the best way to go cause if theres an adjustment that needs to be made i can do so with coilovers i found a set on ebay for 800 & change so im just going to do some research on them and ill take it from there. BC coilover are 1200 plus and i have some other parts i need to get, cause i was on the highway a few weeks ago and a dump truck dropped a sheet metal and it landed on my hood messing up my left headlight and bumper & hood so there parts that i have to swap...
I wanted to thank you all for your help and advise on what too do & what to get for my max...

that's where I'm buying mine from.

1 yr warranty and after the warranty is done, if one of your coilovers blow it's just $95 to get a new replacement.

If your car is an automatic, you must want your tranny to die a bad death. Those wheels are no good for your car (if you have an automatic). Theyre just not practical. Consider the 350z Anniversary rims or the g35 18s.
