Here's my 1969 Chevy Nova. I purchased it today for $1500. I consider the body to be in great shape except for by the right rear wheel well. Although, my wife disagrees and says she wouldn't pay $0.15 for it

It's going to be a project, that I'm looking forward to doing.

69 was one of my favorite years for the Nova.

I've got a 66 Mustang Notchback I'm almost done putting back together. It was in pretty much the same condition your Nova is in now when I got it. I'm really looking forward to finally getting it back on the road after 2 years.

Stripped the interior between last night and just now. The A-pillars and B-pillars are trash. The headliner is no good. The dash is no good. The sun visors and rear view mirror are in good shape and will be salvaged. I may try and sell the seat belts. They're GREEN

I need a better shop vac. The mini one that I have just isn't cutting it. Once I get it, I'll vacuum the carpet and take it out. The carpet maybe salvagable, but we'll see.

Overall it's body is 'complete' though some of those rust spots 'look' bad - I'm betting a lot of it is 'surface' and only some will need 'metal replacement'.

I know your looking at an engine swap... that's cool... but I'm curious as to if you plan on going with a full, OEM interior, or something more 'custom' ?

I want to do a LS1/T56 combo ... So that would have a floor shift, therefore I would build a center console.

So I'm looking at two bucket seats. I would have to see about the back if I would need to put tubs in there. Wheels are expensive and I don't know about anything wider than a 10in wheels in the back .. I'm thinking 18x8 in the front and 18x10 in the back. But if I have to tub the back then the back seat would be custom too.

I appreciate the old american stuff like theis. But I would never take on this task. I just dont have the time, patience, space, money, and most of all, the know how when it comes to these types of vehicles. I love to see finished products though.

Classic cars need a sidewall if you're doing a resto, if you're doing a PT, then you go wide and low ... DSE tubs can fit a 315

I can always appreciate restoring a car, but tucking 3" of sunken wheels looks horrible on anything. The red Z28 looks great, would look better with moar sidewall.

I've made some progress in the past two weeks or so

Carpet: I ripped it in a few spots, so it's toast. But that's all right ... The padding is all patchy underneath it which would create an uneven floor. If you're gonna do it, do it right.



Front drivers side ... Toast, needs to be replaced



Front passenger side: No visible holes, but I may replace it anyway



Rear drivers side: Some rust, but I don't think it needs to be replaced



Rear passenger side: Best one, definitely not replacing it.

The engine and trans are going to be pulled next week sometime. Then the subframe will be coming out and inspected. If it's good, then it'll be blasted and powder coated
