Finally moving on up

I got a set of 18" Enkei CDR 9 rims +40 offset, 2 of them had brand new tires, all for $200! They were pretty scuffed up though, but i bondo all the curb rash, sanded, and painted them with the silver duplicolor wheel paint. They look almost brand new now, completely different from before. I bought 2 more tires 225/40/18, and got them mounted and I finally installed the wheels yesterday. Man i tell you I love it! my old wheels were the 16" 5 spoke oem, and these wheels just feel so nice to ride on. So check it out, tell me what you think.

They look real good. Nice, bright silver color on those rims. They showcase your brakes nicely, too. Not too keen on the pair of faux-rivits between the spokes, but the recessed nature of that design kind of makes up for it. Certainly seems like an excellent opportunity for you, and good work on the clean-up / install. I like it.

The pinstripes, and the plastic on the windows... um, no, not so much.

Yeah those rivets bothered me too but i figured other than that these are some sweet rims especially for the price, and i wasnt sure about the pinstripe either its funny you mention that, for some reason alot of people that see it like it but idk.

btw. webjohn- I am dropped on progress springs, well in the back for now my driver side strut blew last week so those are the oem springs/struts. waiting on my illuminas!

Sorry to OT on the other visuals. For the the sake of argument, I could say those plastic window guards are as unobtrusive as possible since your car is dark and your windows are tinted. So, meh.

I agree with your thoughts on the faux-rivets: they're subtle and not nearly enough of a concern to be a deal breaker on what is clearly a sweet deal.

And the pinstripes... I can't argue both sides of that one. It doesn't work. Sorry. IMO.

Your car looks much better than before! Congrats. It's amazing how a set of wheels changes everything on a car. It has to be the #1 thing to impact the overall look so much. Well you know, besides accidents, super huge wings and dead hookers on your roof rack...

I think they look good as well. I have to agree on the color comment though, I think something a little more darker would be nice, please do NOT paint them black though. Maybe in the winter when you take them off the car.

Like the new rims but like Rochester said the pinstripe well...... I like the look of pin stripes on lighter colored cars, but not so much on dark colored cars. Overall looks good although!

Thanks man, its funny you say that cuz i was telling my g.f the same thing. Wheels are one of the first things most people look at when a car rolls by. but these rims really do make the car look completely different!

Ok, so ... what does that mean? I think they need to 'stick out more' (+ lower offset and be wider?)

Update:
I decided to try out the gunmetal color, personally i think it looks pretty good, the only complaint i have is that the silver ones popped out more and the gunmetal seems to show the rust on the rotors more. but other than that i think it looks pretty nice.If i went back to the silver it would no doubt be a little darker cuz i can use this gunmetal as a primer. Let me know what you guys think, i cannot decide which color i like better.

The gun metal gives your car that "murdered" look, and personally I think the whole murdered theme is pretentious unless someone were to go full-on flat black. But that's just one opinion. I prefer the silver.

I like the gunmetal color better. Did you use the duplicolor wheel paint for the gunmetal as well?

Yeah all duplicolor, it turns out pretty well. I even used this spray gun that you put on top.
