Rip Maxima[Warning! Graphic Max Pics]

Well, its been a while since iv been on. roughly about 3 months. i guess.
Anyways to the topic.
i was driving down a road. lots of S turns and hard left and rights. 25 was the limit. was going 30.
Dry, sunny day, about 10:15 am. Narrow 2 lane road.
I hit a turn, doing about 27ish, but no more then 30.
Gravel got caught on the rear right wheel. rear end started to slide out.
car started swinging from side to side. i froze up. with for some reason foot flooring the gas. i hit about 80 mph, and slide off the road. ill let the pics do the rest of the talking...

i hit a tree with my rear left quarter panel when i slid off the road, at 80 mph.
car flipped, all i remember seeing was the sky then ground, sky, ground. then waking up to see my radiator was smoking.
Car ended up on the right passengers side.
no busted windows, except rear windshield.
No one was hurt. 1 driver = me and 2 other friends.
walked away. no injuries or scratches.

Hope you're ok but I need to ask...

You were doing 30 but somehow managed to get it up to 80 before you crashed it??

You can't throttle out of this one when you're in doubt. Glad you're here to tell about it.

I'm glad you're ok. I know how it feels to be in a bad accident and walk away without anything but a scratch.

And i'm not trying to call BS or start a fire or anything, but there is no way a stock 4th gen can see 80mph from 30mph while loosing control that fast. You would have either caught traction way before you got to 80, or the car would have corrected itself. I'm NOT saying you were speeding. What could have happened is when your foot sank the gas pedal, you might have hit a spot of gravel of something slick and broke the wheels loose. The speedo could have shot up to 80mph because of the wheels spin. I hope this is what happened. If not, shame on you, but the only thing that matters is that your and your friends are alive and well.

I think that's what he was saying essentially. It's obvious from the damage, there's now way the car was going 80 MPH, but the wheels/transmission certainly could have been as they were loose on soft road conditions, or off the ground during the roll...

To the OP, you know you're an idiot for wrecking the car, especially with friends on board. But a real man can admit his mistake, as you've done, and a smart man learns from those admitted mistakes. Good to have you around still!

Thats what i ment, from the slip/slick the speedo hit 80 mph.
And yes i know im a idiot for totaling her, she was a beauty and treated me very well. Also me and my friends are still close, even more then before after having this happen.

Only thing left of her is the right passenger mirror, the bottom piece of the left rear fender, and the Nissan jack.

Pretty sure that's a 5th gen.

Drive wheels slip = speedo tells you what the wheels are seeing, not actual speed.
