Spray painted my engine cover...

Quick little job since I was bored and have a spare cover... I still have to paint the bolts, get a spare oil cap and paint it, and do something with the Hamburger once I get the peeling chrome off of it...

Do you have any idea what that is?

That is the imperial Japanese flag.....as in the flag they were flying when they went to war with the US.....as in when they were going kamikaze on our asses at pearl harbor.

this is like painting the swastika on your engine cover lol.

cool idea, but doesnt flow with the engine bay in my opinion. It will probably look good on a white car. Hope it looks good on whoever's car you sold it too.

no different than all the maltese crosses people like to use. that was the sign of the red baron during ww1.

or confederate flags. plenty of people still rock those

Never said it looked bad, it's just not my style.

I gave him Kudo's for a nice job on it.

And yes i have pics somewhere where a flock of birds took a dump in my engine bay when i had it parked under my tree in my front yard with the hood up The pic just kinda reminded me of that in a weird kinda way.

I like it, and the Japanese still use that flag for their 'Self Defensive Forces' - although they added 'gold' around it.

Someone had something similar at the NWP meet back in 08. I thought it was cool, didn't know the symbolism behind it though. Learnin' sh*t on Maxima.org.

The paint job=great. The meaning=shame on you if you are American. Does it match the rest of the engine bay=not so good since that's the only clean thing under there and another, it doesn't match anything and looks out of place. That's my 2 cents.

LOL @ Rising Sun Flag haters... I rocked one in my dorm room.

Last time I checked, that flag wasn't made for dec. 7th 1941, it represented the navy for over 50 years before that day. Don't let one event ruin the whole image... That's like saying... Man, all America does is drop A-bombs on other countries who mess with them, fatal error in logic.

So.... To keep everyone happy he should have done it like this....

Not gonna explain the difference.

Anywho...
I like the paint job, but I'm on the same boat w/ everyone else, doesn't go w/ the car @ all. I hope to see more of your work soon!!!

Honestly... I may hit you up for another copy of that (Well the Army version anyways) when I get my VQ35.... That would work for me

aahshun, being as most orgers are probably americans we would rather see an american flag done on an engine cover or w/e instead of one of another country that bombed and killed many soldiers at pearl harbor. no offense but i think its nice, but i hope he's asian or major fail.
