Got my boy to buy a nice 2003 Maxima SE.

Hi I am a 4th genner and well. I told him I would help him out with his new max. HE is very happy with it besides it being an auto. Very nice cond. Gun metal grey with like white inteoior. 71k miles on it. 2 owners and all the mainten records. very quiet got it for $9.5 at a dealer. with 500 down. Not to shabby IMHO for a dealer but NO warranty. So far things been good with it and when I drove it in. Wow. It really felt like a Gen 4 but just better in a lot of areas. WOuld really love to have one. VQ35<3 vs. the baby VQ30. lol

So just tell me a little about the gen 5s if you like cause I may upgrade

I have a 2003 SE Titanium edition with Meridan package and love it.
Even though its an Auto, it still moves

Really don't have anything major to complain about except that its an auto lol
It does get annoying though when you're trying to work on it, oh and the rear suspension setup is *** lol

I'm in love with mine, I have a 6 speed 2002 with meridan package. My main thing right now is getting all the long needed maintenance out of the way since the car had 110k miles when I first bought it. I'm getting close though, just a few more suspension upgrades and I should be good to go. Anyway yeah, totally worth getting but only if you go with a VQ35, otherwise there is nothing wrong with your 4th gen.

EDIT: btw....

Yup you might be right. They are supposed to be deep gray and shiny. Those are the regular rims.

Especially if there's Nissan content.
I dunno why people have to rag on this guy for making a thread. Who cares, it's just a thread. It's not like it costs you money to have it here... Just move along.

Nice car, btw.

my stats don't show the longevity of my relationship with the .org, when i started perusing five years ago there were so many threads that had titles that i didnt know what they meant.... now it's always a thread that gets the response "search" or its stupid opinion base crap. occasionally people ask rarer questions about random issues ut very rarely is there a great writeup or awesome conundrum to be solved.

if everything posted is either searchable, off topic or just plain ret*rded then is there a point to the org besides the classifieds and motm?
yes, of course there is. but seriously we have a huge archive here and we cant always search everything in order to conclude there are no other options, repeat threads are necessary evil to keep those out of the know in the know on prevlent issues and there fixes, as well as what upgrade wok etc...

these cars have been stripped down and put back together by thousands upon thousands of people, we should be here to help along those enthusiasts who have yet to have the joy of removing thick hunks of skin from their knuckles and heaving a sigh of relief knowing that all the performance in there car was restored as they shed blood and replaced a 15 dollar sensor.

just my two cents

Well said. I am always thankful for some of people who are truly appreciative of the value of getting to a root cause of an issue. Especially if the fix is a very simple one. And learning a lot through the porocess.
