Brett's Progress Thread
Bump.
No more modded Maxima. She's gone back to stock
I've got this now:

Pardon the nasty, poorly-editted cellphone pic. When I find my camera, I'll take some better shots.
Funny how I said I'd bump this thread in a year, and look back and see where my Maxima is at. And it's bone stock.

Well, to be honest, other than buying the 6MT and swapping all of the mods from the 4AT to the 6MT, not much else happened in terms of progress, other than what was done to the car when I started this thread.
At last sitting, before everything was put back to stock the car had:
Power:
- Custom SRI w/ AEM Dryflow filter and Blox velocity stock (which is now on the G)
- OBX V2 headers
- Megan Racing test pipe
- Greddy eBay knockoff exhaust w/custom muffler
- a'pexi VAFC-II
- NWP block-off plate
- Ksport Coilovers
- CustomMaxima FSTB
- Progress RSB
- 95% interior LED conversion
- LEDs in various exterior parking lights/license plate lights
- Clear front side markers with amber bulbs
- 3000k HID foglights
- Rota Boosts, 17x7.5, +35
- Stillen front lip
- Various stickers
As the G sits right now, current "mods," if you can call them that:
Power:
- AEM Dryflow filter w/ Blox velocity stock
- Home-made Z-tube (chopped the bellows off of the stock G intake)
- ...nada.
- Smoked/tinted tails (which need to be repainted because some idiot dragged something across the paint and fudged them up)
- Tinted front side markers (Going to be deleted when I repaint the front bumper...the bastards don't like to stay in the bumper)
- Stock 17's repainted GM Storm Metallic Grey
- LEDs in map lights/door lights/license plate lights
- White LEDs in the center analog clock
- Silver 3M carbon fiber vinyl on door pulls
- 350GT trunk badge
Test pipes may be as soon as next week, depending on how bad my cats really are. I've started noticing that wonderful sulfur smell the cats give when they're on their way out under heavy acceleration. But the CEL hasn't triggered yet, so I may have some time.
I'll try to keep this thread updated more regularly as I modify the G...

UP!
A little late, but...
Put these on the car about two weeks ago:

Cheapo eBay testpipes to save my car from Nissan's glorious failcats. I didn't realize the converters on the G were 2-stage, OR that they weighed in at 35 pounds a piece.
These bolted up fairly easily. Took me and my buddy about an hour...but the car sounds pretty good with them on. Definitely a lot more of a rough, edgy sound to the stock exhaust note.
Cars seems to have picked up a lot of mid-range torque, too. It feels more responsive accelerating from 70-80 in 5th gear.

What can I say? Having a proper RWD car excites me.
Just a small update: Got bored, and snapped a few photos of the car for the heck of it...

More to come when I get a decent camera...
Other than the test pipes, and a short ram intake, the car is still pretty much totally stock at this point. Future plans are to get a hold of a set of coilovers and rims. And then maybe a catback, and a few other bits and pieces.
