I have this posted on M3post ,thought id share it with you guys
Iv'e had this car for about 6 months now and its just having so many issues. Right now my car is headed to the dealer again.
Since i had the car the steering wheel locked 3 times on me , 2 of those times i almost got in a accident.I took it to the dealer the 1st 2 times it happened and it stayed there for 4 days and they said they couldnt find anything wrong with it,so i took it back.
Then on november 15th my navigation screen went bad, at 1st it was just discolored and then a week later it turned black , so i took it to the dealer and waited , they said they would order the parts and have it repaired , but i had to wait till dec 25th.On the day of the appointment i missed it by 1 hr and called in to let them know i would be a bit late and they said they gave away my loaner car and that i had to wait till the 15th of jan.:whyme:
Now this past sunday (Dec 23rd) my steering wheel got stuck again and wouldn't turn while i was driving and sent me sliding into a pile of snow, so while trying to get out the brake lights came on along with aribag lights ,suspension light and ABS light and i cant really do anything cuz the navi screen is out and most of the controls work on the display, so i just gave up and called them (roadside assistance) and had it towed.
Since it snowed a lot here in the NYC, my car didn't make it to the dealer until this past thursday , it was under 3 ft of snow for 5 days.I called up on saturday to see if they figured out whats causing the steering to lock up and the service guy said they didn't check it yet , and that they won't be able to do anything until this monday, so now i have to wait again. I'm just tired of all of this and right now if they cant fix all my problems on this service , i just want back my money to buy a new car.This is a 70k car and im complete not happy with it.
Also i bought some seat covers to keep my seats clean (BMW seat covers )and instead of protecting my seats they stained my seats -.- and now they look like crap.I called up the dealer and they just sent me some leather cleaner to try and clean it off but it didn't work.
Also i had took the car to the dealer one more time because it was making some weird noise when i make tight turns, they said they had a recall on that problem and changed the differential fluids , but since that i still hear the noise.(grinding noise)
If i cat get new leather for my front seats and all my problems fixed , i just want back my money.
Anyone know a good lemon lawyer?I emailed some place that i found on google, but i just want to know if anyone can recommend someone good and will i have to pay the lawyer fees or will BMW take care of that.

I sent a email and spoke to two CS supervisors at BMWNA, and i'm hoping monday i can get some good news on what they are going to do about my car,they said they can't do anything until the dealer diagnose the problem.
The Lemon lawyer called me back, they said i have a good case , but i told them i'm trying to work it out with BMWNA 1st to do a buyback and if that doesn't work , he said i can call him up and they wont charge any fees to me.
At this point i don't want them to fix anything, i just want a brand new M3, i don't feel safe driving a car that i have no control over.

the service dept. called me back today, they said can't find anything with the steering as of yet and that all the lights are currently off, and they make it seem like they never was on and all they said is that they are going to do is install a new navi screen.
So ill just call back BMWNA and see what they have to say.

Some lady from corporate called me , i wasn't expecting her call , but she said that my claim has be escalated and she will be handling my case from now on , so hopefully she can give me some results.

My dealership called and said i can come pick up a loaner , i guess the lady from corporate pulled some strings , this is the 1st BMW loaner i'm getting , and i went it for service at this dealer 6 times already.
She also said if its ok with me to let them keep the car for 3-4 days and have someone drive it everyday to try and duplicate the problem. I said thats fine with me , i hope they can duplicate it so i can be on my way to getting a new car , and if they don't then i have to go the lawyer route , he said if i do get back the car and it does happen again that BMW will be liable for anything that happens because , i reported it twice to them already.Also i may be held liable too , because i knowingly driving around a unsafe vehicle , but ill just point that out to her 1st before anything.
One of the techs takes my car home everyday -.- , grease ball driving my 70k car while i take a cab to work.

Got my loaner today, kinda slow , but it makes me appreciate my m3 way more

Wow thats crazy as ****. A deathtrap on wheels. Glad nothing serious happened to you. Couldve been far worse than just running into a pile of snow. Hope this gets resolved soon. Pics of your car when done would be great!

No matter what they say I wouldnt take the car back and demand a new one. I wouldnt take the chance of causing injury to myself if that steering wheel locks again. If I was BMW I'd offer you new vehicle just to avoid something like that happening them being sued by you. I'd be pretty pissed if I were in your situation.

I love Bimmers but I know some people who spend more time in loaner bimmers than the Bimmer that they actually own.

Yea is very scary, im trying to do my best to push them to give me a new car, so far i had this loaner for like 3 weeks , it sucks
Service rep called me today and he's getting pissed at me saying theres nothing wrong with the steering , i said you don't drive it everyday , how could you know ? all he had to say is there is nothing wrong with it and that i should come pick it up. He pissed me off by how he was coming off to me , with no respect , so i'm done playing mister nice guy with them , i'm going to go the lawyer route , the car was towed since the 26th of december and went to the shop on the 30th , so if they want to count from the 30th to the 12th and plus its going to be there for like a week more till the regional tech gets to check it out , it will be more than a total of 30 days if you count all the other times i took it in for issues i had. Even the rep thats working on my case isn't helpful , all they keep saying is if they can't replicate it then too bad for me , drive it till you crash and burn.Im going to contact the lemon lawyer that already told me i have a good case at hand and take it from there, Im tried of the hassel with Hassel BMW and BMW USA , ill let the lawyer deal with it, im not picking up the car , until they reach my expectations. I even mentioned to her about the stains all over my seats , she said call back the dealer i got it from and i told her i did and the dealers say call you guys, then she tired to give me the normal customer service number to call back , and start all over , but they were the ones who keep tell me to call back the dealer and the dealer says to call them, so i'm just going back on forth with there BS. Im tired of BMW , paid 50k out of pocket for a trash car and trash service.

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with all these problems, esp with warranty. It sounds like you have similar frustrations about BMWs like this guy from the video.

Damn that is a serious problem eating it into snow would have been enough for me...
I can't believe that bmw is treating you so badly. With all the computers in modern cars they should be able to see that the car has done what your saying. I go to school for automotive and I can tell you that any time a light comes on freeze frame data should be stored in the computer and they should have no issues seeing what every related sensor was reading at that very second. I would definately get a lawyer involved it is not safe to be driving that car. Do not pick the car up until you are 100% sure its fixed. Also on a side note I wouldn't call bmw techs greese monkeys if you knew the training technitions go through you would not say that. Dealership techs are nothing like your local pepboys mechanic. Its a whole different ballgame.

I can understand that but sometimes its the only way to diagnose a car. It happened occasionally at the dealership I used to work at. I hope you get everything resolved. Personally id go to a different dealer for any future work.

Do you have to get another BMW....are they willing to give you your money back??? If so, I would run as faaaarrr away from BMW as possible.......I think the reliability of German cars has fallen in the past years.....
My bro had a Mercedes that gave him nothing but problems...it was also in the shop once a month for something or another......good thing that POS was a lease because all the shiznit was covered and he got to kick that crap to the curb in the end......he went with Lexus afterward and is completely happy........

I just came back from the dealer and they are going to order me a new car , just with the mineral white instead of alpine white and the extended leather.They also gave some good news , since ill have to wait about 2 months for the new car, they said I can drive my old car until the new one arrives(after they fix everything next week). =D
