It's like sex for my eyes.

I desperately need a BBK now though... seems like I have a lot of research to do, I need to be able to run winters still.....

It snows after you installed the rims? Ha ha! Poor guy.

I had no idea you found a set of G37S rims. That must have set you back. Whatever the cost, they look fantastic. Those Enkei wheels are absolutely gorgeous. I want a set myself... although I want the rest of the Infiniti around them, so I'm waiting a bit. And I understand the BBK desire, because with those narrow spokes you can clearly see the Maxima OEM calipers, which look like pooh. (As they do on my car.)

Wow. Tein SS Coilovers and Enkei G37S rims, all in one snowy weekend. How's the tally sheet looking now? Has your mod budget exceeded the value of the car yet? When it does, you get a coupon book and a free coffee mug from Edmunds.com.

i agree...didnt know you copped some G37s...but they look pretty good, way better than i expected

Tuner i'd sell you my stockies and send you the 5mm spacers you need to run them to clear the 6th Gen BBKs so you can run stock setup and still have BBK

G37S rims look fantastic on a white car.

I've been staring at this picture here as wallpaper for about a year now.

Maybe, need to check on possible wheel spacer in the back first. Then play around a bit. It rides so good right now I'm scared to touch anything except allignment.

Yeah I knew it was going to snow, about 1 hour after the install it started. It's already gone though, we got 2 inches of snow last night then it rained all morning. made for some nice pictures though!

Yup got them from a guy in Mississauga. 65% on OE Potenzas, and I got a set of Pirrelli Piezos for $100 with 70% tread in my basement for when the Potenzas wear out. The Pirrellis are the proper size to match stock OD, these are 1" higher.

With spare tires, Enkei rims, and Coilovers, total cost is... ding ding ding... PM'd.

And no, I'm not at the purchase price yet. The car only has about 56-60k miles on it.

So it wasn't too foolish to dump the coin into it, I'll get my moneys worth out of the components long before I have to worry about regular repairs. That said, this is one of my last big exterior mods unless I find a cheap set of TDM mirrors, or a Pearl white pair of AE side skirts.

Don't need the stockies, but may consider the spacers, PM me, I want to chat with you about that 6th gen BBK anyways, is that all we need to do (5th gens) to run stock 17" rims? Install a 5mm Spacer in the rear?

AHAHA well done sir. Yes, yes there is, and they ship them to Rochester, NY from what I've heard. Where they sandblast them, paint them, then sell them to the Ruthless Canadians at an inflated price.

I have to admit, I was worried that I wouldn't like them. I don't really like them on the G37s, they look ok on the TSX (common swap), but not great.

I knew they'd look OK, but I didn't actually expect to fall in love with it. The amazing thing about them, is they look bigger than 19", because of the design, the actual outer measurement of the lip is somewhere around 21.5"-22"

----

And now, Grill and headlights...... this is going to work

I'm keeping the crazy paint job I did to the headlights, it's going to work, the OEM silver in the headlights will accent the rims (side view), and the satin black in the headlights will accent the grill (front view).

Almost like I planned it that way or something

Exactly that. It's because the spokes go to the outer-edge of the lip. Which makes them more prone to curb-rash, unfortunately.

Sport Edition sells a wheel that appears to be 100% knock-off designs for these rims. Although you can get it in 16", 17" and 18" sizes. Not 19". The downside is you're not seeing any weight loss. (BTW, what do the G-rims weigh?)

Yeah there are quite a few guys on here and some TSX boys running those knock offs. The knock offs weight a lot more, somewhere like 26-27 lbs for JUST the rim and they're not even 19"~ Not to mention the colour/finish is ugly.

I didn't know you could get them in 16" though.

As for curb rash, YUP! The previous owner knicked the R/F, hence why I got them for a good price. I won't likely bother refinishing though, you can never get that OEM gunmetal finish done properly, the costs would be more than I originally paid for the rims with tires. Plus install/uninstall and balance and probably shipping costs.

The Real Enkei 19" weigh almost an even 21 lbs each from what I've read.

Pretty dam light for 19"x 8.5" and 9" IMO, but not the lightest out there either. Any heavier and I wouldn't have bought them.

I was going to buy some WedSport sa67 19"x 9" and 19x 10" but the seller wouldn't budge on price.

So, Tuner... any comments about what the CO's have done for your ride yet? Or are you still figuring things out? Or maybe you're waiting for good weather and free-time?

I'm pretty interested in hearing how you assess this. Nothing in it for me, just curiosity.

I haven't had too much time with them because I have tools in the trunk still, and my son has been in the car since install.
I thought I heard a little rubbage a couple times, but I think it was just the junk in my trunk

Once I get things tidied up (when the cool wind and rain stops), I'll test it out some more.

I still need to do a 'in driveway' allignment on it when it gets nicer also, she's pulling around bit since the 19" install.

All that being said, I'll leave the bulk of my impressions for later, for now I will tell you:

- Its WAY smoother than I expected, I know why people say the Tein SS ride better than stock. It's not smoother than stock, but it's not far off, and I prefer the tighter rebound that they give.
All in all, the comfort is impressive for Low profile 19" and Coilovers, I really NEVER would have thought it could be this smooth with Coilovers and 19" rims
I could put my Mom in the car again (she borrows it sometimes) before I installed the 19's and she would have NO idea that it was any different, it was really that smooth with the winters on.

-The handling is not much better, but it's notable. This was a bit of a surprise, I was expecting 'night and day' differences. Once again, I need to tinker with allignment before I say too much on that though.

Price was at $1500 without tires. I got him talked into doing the rear with tires for that price, but he wouldn't go any lower so I walked. All I wanted was $50 off too lol.

He sold them though. Got what he wanted I think. I'm meeting up with him in a week or two to mess with spacers and possible fender roll if necessary.

i'm 99% sure that the feeling of ride you get on your Tein SS and i do w/ my BCs are damn near the same, because the way you are describing them...i swear thats the EXACT way i feel! when you hit a bump...you dont feel like you are on the ocean moving w/ the waves...its a nice transition, but firm enough so you wont get seasick...AND THE RIDE ON 19S?!?!?!? OMG!! other than my 265s being too wide on my car and it rubbing, the ride was flippin phenominal. i promise..if i ever lower again, i WILL NOT get spring/struts. i have my coilovers dialed in damn near perfect for DD...my wife doesnt have an ounce of complaint...and i had my mother ride w/ me and i asked her, how does it ride. she said it rode fine, no complaints. so all in all...Tein SS and BC coilovers...ftmfw

Yeah they sound like a similar ride. I hope the BC's last just as long, that would be quite a feat. I'm happy to hear they're working out for you.

I am so damn busy lately. This business has picked up locally despite a general lack of advertising on my part. And I'm on a mad hunt for child care. The car is on hold for now.

Not everyone will recognize that sarcasm.

I figured it was too soon for detailed impressions on the CO's. Give it some time.

Yeah you're probably right.

I am actually considering the black roof though, I've been seeing lots of White 7th gens lately, and man, it looks good. Of course, it won't look the same, but i think it might be worth a shot. I'm putting it in the back of my mind, will have to see if I can get high quality gloss black, I'm thinking that's the best choice.... hard to say.

Either way I have a bunch of work just finishing up some of these half-done jobs so I can stop for a bit. LOL

i've been thinking aboutt he black roof as well...i'm not sure if i want to do it or not. if getting my roof redone for a decent price back to white isnt too costly. ill probably just go that route..but i did consider hitting it w/ plastidip

The flowing, integrated design of the c-pillar on the 5th gen does not support a separate color roof. Considering the rounded edges of the rear window, and the design of the rear doors, it just won't work. No matter how good it subjectively looks to your eye, there will always be something wrong with it that you will intentionally ignore, compromise or rationalize.

But by all means, make your own assessment.

May try to find time to fab up the MAF adapter in the next month so I can at least run it SRI for the time being.

I'd do it in Vinyl for sure, that way if I don't like it, she comes off. I don't like the idea of installing anything on my car that isn't removable if the need should arise.

I'm all about protecting resale value.

I see you've already looked at this. I haven't analyzed it yet, perhaps you've saved me the trouble. At the very least, you've given me a few things to examine even closer.

I'll post back after I get a good look at it as well.

Yeah but I'm not paying $30 to get one that's worth having. Plust the $30 one STILL doesn't line up perfect.

I'll make my own in an hour max once I get back to the shop (work). I'll just do it on my lunch break or something one day. It will line up properly too

LOL. Yeah everything up here has French on it as well as english.

It's especially useful in the majority of applications, ie:

Like, really, we couldn't figure that out? That's not even the worst of it, there's a million like that. When I used to smoke was the worst, they had a English and French warning on either side. This is a bad example but always made me chuckle a little. It sounds like no big deal when you read it in french
