This is true. Rolled and pulled fenders are to achieve aggressive fitment by running wide wheels with stretched tires and usually neg camber.

Being flush just means your wheel isn't battle sinked in. Doesn't mean you need rolled or pulled fenders

I hope you are joking......just because the sidewall on your tires is huge and rub the fenders dont mean u have stance. It just mean the sidewall is huge

Not yet. Putting on the tires tomorrow then have to get an alignment before they go on.

Compared to the stock 16's I had, it's stanced. Sure, it doesn't poke from the wheel well like mad, but that would also make it look goofy.

It's only on springs and the tires are way to big. Once I get coils I'll put smaller tires on, maybe with a little stretch and throw on some spacers. Then it will be slammed, Hellaflush and stanced.

Watch out for the stance experts. I can see your wheels aren't poking enough. They may disapprove of your lack of spacers.

Max looks good by the way. I'm in for more pics. It looks like you have a huge dent on the rear quarter panel below the antenna. Or is that just some strange reflection?

You post pictures, expect criticism. good or bad.

Stance can be widely defined. Your car doesn't look to fit the bill. Thing is, you have really meaty tires, dropped on springs, wheel gap, and not really flush all around, nor a legit "tuck".

MaxCTR, love the wheels. get a kit on there

Oh by all means I expect criticism. It's impossible to go anywhere on the internet without it. It took me almost a year to get wheels. Coils will come probably by the end of the year. Tires will be replaced by the end of the summer and then I should fit the bill 100%.

I'm not sure why everyone is assuming a finalized set up from the pics. Just like everyone else, I'm posting some progress pics.

I think it's safe to say that if I approve of it, its legit.

The difference is that other peoples setups point towards or give a hint of stance. Yours does not at all. Not saying its ugly, it just is the opposite of what the thread is about.

In Ur own Lil concept I guess its more "stance" but for the thread purpose its not stance... I once had stock 16's on my Dek n stock ride height but in my Sig its 17's n coilovers but it doesn't make my car "stances" maybe more than before but for what the meaning of thks thread is no, Ur still not stanced, Srry we are not trying to compare to 16" wheels...

I'll just come back when I get coils with a drop and spacers. Maybe then the experts will approve of my progress.

This whole "stanced" thing is so outrageously stupid, in my opinion. There's no definition of "stanced". Everyone keeps arguing back and forward about what the perfect fitment is or would be... Now there's experts? Lmao. Thats what I like about function. Its function, you're either faster or slower, therefore something you can measure. You can't measure "stance". Enough ranting, back to the awesome show.

It's really really simple.

I just think the argument stems from:
People posting a sunk wheel + wheel gap car when it's blatantly obvious that's not what the thread is about.
They get told to the truth.
They catch hurt feelings and try to hide it with excuses/arguing.

stance game is far from dead...it's just the people on here that aren't really into stance that don't know any better and think that it's as simple as wheels, coils and spacers. It can be that simple, but only if you know what you're doing. offset is everything.

rolling fenders isn't even everything, but i can say that if you haven't had to modify your fenders, you're not doing right. if you don't have stretched tires, you're not doing it right. if you're not as low as your wheel/tire setup allows you to be with coilovers on full stiff, you're not doing it right...stance is all about finding the limits and going just a little past it. it's all about minimal extremes.

even with tucked stance setups that aren't flush, it's still about the extremes.

I can't wait to finish my set up for the summer.

Lowered the rear 1/2 inch, did some more fender work thanks to RGZ. I'm getting there. Also, seriously contemplating a diff setup up front. R34's + smoked bumper's, non-yellow fogs.

I wish we could camber the rears. The rear wheel angle looks awkward in that pic.

I like what you're thinking for your front end though. It should clean it up quite a bit with that contrast.

Don't feel bad. My passenger rear quarter panel also has a nasty dent. Haven't decided how I should go about removing it.

I have the opposite problem with my wheels. They have nice poke on the front and none in the back. A spacer will fix that after I get new tires.

While I respect your opinion, there is a clear definition of stanced. Now within the stance community, there are different variations of stance. I will just simplify this as flush, poke, and tuck. But it goes much deeper than that. Perfect fitment is dependant on the goal that you are trying to achieve with that specific setup.

The same can be said about a purpose built performance vehicle. If a car kills the competition on the road course, you might call it fast. But if that same car only runs a 15.8 in the 1/4 mile, is it now considered a slow car? Does that mean that you can't measure fast or slow anymore because it is or neither "both"?

Bottom line is that stance is a concept that is misunderstood. People looking at it from the outside think it's alot less than what it really is. Just like drifting is looked at, just like NASCAR is looked at, etc. But in reality it's just another genre of the car culture. If you don't understand it, that's fine. It's the same way that someone who is into heavy metal music, might not see the value of hip hop music. But now I'm just rambling on.
