Coilovers>Springs is the argument Chrisman is getting at.

I have to agree, Im on S.Techs and feel everything on the road.....run over a small rock ... you feel it in the car.

But ive rode ~500 miles in a car with coils and the ride was DRASTICALLY better

I think that's all relative to what springs/struts and what tires. I have 2" drop with matrix springs and KYB's on Dunlop direzza tires. Sure if I hit a pot hole you'll feel it, but you would with any suspension set up. On a standard road, the driving comfort is not bad at all.

As others have said OP, save and get coilovers. I bought my car with the drop already done, but I still plan to change it out for coilovers by next year. Coilovers are also nice if you plan on getting into tracking your car. You can simply adjust it for the track and then when you are done playing you revert it back to comfort.

i had the best struts supposedly available, illuminas some drop zone springs and factory tires/rims...ran on springs/struts and coilovers...coilovers gave an entirely better ride not to mention the ability to go as low as i wanted to

I don't doubt it, I was simply saying that not all spring/struts are as awful as everyone makes them out to be. If my car was never dropped I wouldn't bother with springs though, I'd be saving for coilovers.
