To Infiniti and beyond...The I30t adventure begins

Hello Maxima.org

I have 2 Nissan's
92 NX2000 and a 93 NX2000
And I am active on a forum dedicated to the engines and chassis those engines come in
But this is my first Infiniti

Getting this thing has been an adventure.

Saw it on Cl yesterday...$500
Transmission out. Doesn't move.
Call they still have it. I want it. Agreed to buy it sight unseen.
Deal made.
Get a message later they are trading it in to a stealership for 1k.
I match it is mine again.
Go up to get it today.
Everything is good going up.
Get up there and here it is:

Make the deal get the title.
Little bit of a pain loading it.
But on the road.
Drive 2 miles and hear a POP.
Tire on the right blew and is throwing rubber.
Pull into a gas station.
The weight of the car and the trailer make the other tire on that side give up and deflate.

So pulling out of the gas station and across to a truck parking area I am so focus on watching the flat tires in the passenger side mirror I catch the trailer on the steel/concrete pole by a pump no real damage bend a fender a bit. (No pic) Prybar and hammer will fix.

Now I am stuck in Nashville. Every tire place I call I get a can't help you. Even if I do new tires they won't come get them off the trailer and I have nothing to fit the lugs or a jack capable of lifting the 5,000lbs.

Enter the HERO

MCarp22(from Nissan forum) came with tools took me around helped find tires in the pull-a-part when they wouldn't let my hippie *** in for flip flops.
Then drove me to get them mounted and back to put them on.

By this time I am going to be late to work so I call my sup at work and beg in some quickly approved PTO

Then back on the road HELL YES!

The a LEO pulls me over for no trailer lights. DAMNIT.

On the road again.
This time event free.
Home safe and sound and the car is parked.

Issues:
Needs to be cleaned in and out

Front seats and arm rests the thin leather has not been well cared for and is separating from the backing

The wood type trim is heat baked a bit in places on top of the dash

A remote start has been installed but the security system wasn't bypassed for it so it will try to start it and it will crank but the immobilizer kicks in then you can't start it with they key even.

Transmission
Sounds like the pump in the auto tranny went out and it ran dry. NO jerk or nothing when changing into drive, neutral, or reverse
Thinking a transmission from a 98-03 Maxima will do the trick.

Finally home 8+hrs after I set out.
What a day.

That is it and I snapped it today. I will likely drop by where she is parked tomorrow and can grab some more.

Was a long *** day.

As for up coming mods. Not many if any.
Plan to get it on the road and make her happy and keep her happy.
Fix the little issues and leave it as it is.

I already have my 2 nx's
One lightly modded with
eibach lowering springs
KYB AGX's
Rear Sway
Prothanes
Advanced Timing
Cold Air Intake
Header and custom bent 2.5" exhaust with nothing but a resonator dumping from the side
Also have some more parts for it waiting on me to get around to it and some stuff I haven't listed

and one daily beater:

Neither have AC both aren't to comfortable to ride in long distances (modded worse than daily due to suspension)
And the modded doesn't even heat up in the colder months due to the lower temp thermostat in it.

Then I have my Jeep which can tow things...(like the I30)
Has AC. Rides decent.
And gets 15 mpg.

I am hoping this fills a slot between the 3. Rides nice, comfortable, has ac, and gets decent mpg.
