nah, not my style. toyota just doesn't do it for me, if you were looking for a newer fuel efficient vehicle, the nissan sentra is a much better buy IMO opinion, or a civic. If I was in a market for a new four banger, i'd get the infiniti g25.

The 2.0 vs the 1.8 doesn't have the same hwy mpg range. The sentras are too "small" looking from the outside. I don't really care for hp, so that wasn't an issue. Other options like the Elantra, Cruze, Focus...all were higher priced minus the Cruze LS. But I saw a large number of people having to get their waterpumps replaced because the gasket fails. So I avoided the factory defect and overpriced small car and got the corolla for almost 2 grand under Kbb value. Civics are also overpriced.

I can't afford a g25...plus 40mpg hwy > 29. If that was the case, I would have kept driving the maxima.

Oh and the g25 is still a v6 haha.

^yea I rented a camry a month ago for a long road trip(ATL to MD) and with cruise control set at 80 I averaged 35mpg. I liked the "eco" light that let you know when you were achieving your best mpg, depending on how heavy you were on the accelerator. Always driving my max and getting 23mpg(not too bad) you notice a difference.

I've achieved 30mpgs on the max a couple times..doing like 80%hwy driving, between 60-65..was able to stretch 375 miles on 12.4 gallons of fuel..which honestly means I could have gone about 420 maybe 430 miles on the tank, but my fuel gauge has been intermittently working so I didn't wanna chance it. (Tracked by odo & fuel log app) it wasn't (the fuel gauge) working at the time. But that range is never consistent. The very next fill up was 302 miles using 13.42 gallons...averaged 22.5mpgs. Plus $40 and less fill ups will be nicer than $50-66.

Haha, yeah. It's possible to get 31 mpgs you just have to be very disciplined with your right foot AND minimal idle time..can stretch those miles even further.

man my right foot was out of control when I first got my max. Now I keep it under control often. I wasn't aware of idle affecting mpg besides letting it warm up in the morning. I usually sit of about 30 secs to get her get lubed up(this just doesn't sound right lol) and I take off.

Seeing how fuel companies use a different blend in the winter that reduces mpg I tend to be easy on her. Plus I plan to take this car to 400k(187k now) and beating on it won't help.

Indeed. The more time it spends idling, the more fuel is burned traveling 0 miles..reducing overall mpgs. I understand what you mean about the heavy foot thing too. My max has 309k on it now and still runs strong!
