buying a maxima

Found a 99 gxe in great shape 165000 miles, 2 owner car, all service records,needs nothing and can get for $3000. Also found a 2003 titanium edition SE in excellent condition, one owner, no service records with 147000 miles asking $3900. After reading about the oil consumption problems of the 5th generation maxima I'm leaning towards the 99. This will be a commuter car going 80 miles daily 5 or 6 days a week. Your thoughts?

Both have their issues.

2002-2003-oil burning issues--> very common

99 Maximas - coilpack issues and NATS/immobilizer issue -->somewhat common

A security feature that prevents the car from being stolen. When it malfunctions, you can't even start your own car and have to have it towed to the dealer to reprogram your keys or call a mobile Locksmith that can do it.
