Alternator Replacement

New to the forum, 2002 SE, joined the other day in search of answers for why my battery light and break lights came on. Everyone was right, it was my alternator, so over the weekend, I replace it myself, took a while (5 hours) but I did it. I watched a few video's on YouTube and what I discovered, with my 2002, under the AC Compressor, there is a bar that does not allow the Compressor to drop once its loose. Long story short, if you come across this problem, step one, before you start the task, drain and remove the radiator. This gives you the much needed space in order to get to the top bolt of the alternator and enable you to remove the alternator easily.. Other than that, this forum and the video(s) I watched were very helpful.

glad you were able to get it done, as you noticed, most of the members here are very knowledgeable, remember that when someone says oem only, it's oem ONLY! take advice from the guys who have been wrenching on maxima's for years, they have been through all of this many times before and are not blowing smoke. we all want what is best for our cars

also, welcome!
