Raced A 02 Pathfinder
Raced A 02 Pathfinder
I (sort of) raced one of my friends last night on a local back-country road. Fairly straight, with little elevation chage. He just got a 02 Pathfinder (auto). He was behind me and all up in my $****, so I eased over to the right hand side of the road (no line) and he pulled up along side. We went from about 40MPH (3rd gear around 3,000 when we started). We were pretty damn even and I may have even pulled a little on him. We cut out at about 80 or 90. We'll have to race off the line sometime.

You read that in a magazine?
I raced a 5spd from a dead stop to about 75 or so, i had about a car lenth on him. im a 99 auto.
So I imagine that the pathfinders will be pretty close to those numbers, comparing to the max.
My parents have an 2002 loaded pathfinder and it is slow as hell in all gears. I really don't know how you didn't crush that thing? It is geared for torque, and weights 4000+ lbs. I have even raced my old man out of a toll booth and absolutely roasted him.
Hmm...put it this way, picture two pathfinders racing. one is an auto 4wd with 240hp, the other is 5spd 2wd with 250hp. with comparable drivers, the 2wd will always be the faster one right? considering the 2wd is lighter and boasts an extra 10 horse. So if this race was a reality..it is very possible that there are 4 car lengths in between the two vehicles.
...Was that what u were talking about?

Hmm doesn't seem like too much of a surprise to me, don't those new Pathfinders have the same engine as the 2k2 3.5 Altima?
If so then thats 240 HP vs.190 (but 5spd). I have no clue how much those weigh but I'm guessing they're pretty torquey. I'm not sure that they're as slow as everyone is making them out to be.
