how much truth is there in the stuff i've read about 3rd gen suspensions being able to withstand a drop of 1.5" or less without replacing shocks and/or struts? i'd like to lower my car since i just got wheels, but springs, shocks, struts, sfcs, and all the other stuff to fully lower a car is $$$. i've read that you can add just springs and the susp. will be fine as long as it isn't any more of a drop than 1.5" anyone know the deal? the stock shocks/struts on my car prob. have about 35000 on em

3. You want to pay for two installs after your stockers blow? I'd say it might be worth it if you are doing the install yourself, but that's it.

attitude man, attitude. Won't get any answers that way! here's some education. struts and springs aredesigned together, to complement eachother. Spring rate and damping rate must be coordinated or you get over damping (hard ride) or underdamping (bouncy springy ride). Lowered springs are designed with higher spring rates than stock. Stick lowered springs (even cut stock have higher spring rate than stock as rate varies with material, wire diameter, coil diameter and number of coils..approximately 10% increase with every coil removed) on stock strut=underdamping=handles like ***, but looks funny as you bounce down the road! Blown struts are inevitable if you have roads like we do here in jersey. So do yourself a favor and A: Use the magic word next time you ask for something and B: get some KYB struts, they are the cheapest upgraded strut, but still are likely designed for stock or only slightly higher than stock spring rates, so round and round you go.
