Frayed one of my s/s BRAKE lines today
call it intuition but i was leaving a parking lot and decided to pump my brakes a few times.. all of a sudden all the pressure dropped out of the line and the pedal hit the floor..
now that i am yearning for OEM, all i can say is check your lines and know your installers.. no boby cares for your car like you do... cept another max freak
peace

the lines were only a year old but installed in a way that they were rubbing against the fenderwell... enough friction and pop all over the control arm and wheel.
did the ride of shame home... on the tow truck..

Gotta watch out for stuff liek that. You're lucky it happened in a parking lot (and smart enough not to try and drive home!)
I'd have a few words with the person that installed it. they're not that hard to clear everything.. even zip ties will help if they're too close to stuff. lucky my 3rd gen lines fit perfectly and I had no chance of rubbing on anything.

Brett you have the wilwood calipers and lines right? I noticed on most Wilwood brake kits the brake line do not come with a fitting to attach to the strut. I had to position my buddy's Civic Si brake line perfectly so it didn't touch the wheel or the fender.
Wow
didn't think that would happen. I better double check my Brembo's. The hose connects towards the 4 (or 8 depending on driver's or passenger's side) o'clock position relative to the rotor. This made me stretch the SS line to the max. I can pull off a U-turn without any problems, but you have to realize I have a barely enough slack. I'm going to make sure I won't have any potential problems.
I guess that's one big thing about this site...learning from other's mistakes and mishaps. As for my boo-boo that all should be aware of is the detent ball and spring on the 5-speed tranny, it's not the drain plug. The drain plug is facing the passenger's side of the car and is kinda tough to access.

Well I got home and check the lines, the rear SS lines were cut on both of them. It seems the bolts on my RSB were cutting into them. I fixed that problem and replaced the ss brake lines with new ones. If anyone hasn't checked theirs in a while take a sec and do a quick inspection under your car..
This happened to me before. I was in Florida, and all of a sudden I hit the brakes, heard a pop and ran a red light. I hand braked it to a stop, and my front wheel is covered in fluid. It turns out that it was rubbing on the tire a little. The shop that did my 300ZX conversion apparently put the retaining clip in backwards and it immediately popped out.
And just 2 weeks ago, I was driving Ming (MAC)'s car and the pedal just hit the floor after the brake light came on. His was rubbing too and he has the Wilwood brakes. I guess it's a common problem.

wow this is kinda scary i'm gonna wrap mine in something, maybe some silicone hose that i could just split open and zip tie shut, that would help a lot i'm sure plus add some color.
