The Stillen is a K&N filter, you're paying for the name and the specially designed MAF adapter. I'm selling my K&N on e-bay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=1843732227. The sound is awesome, I don't know what a Stealen sounds like, but it can't sound that much different. You just have to decide if you want the name and the MAF adapter, personally I like the sound and both will give you a great sound. Look into the Jim Wolf intake, it's priced midway between Stillen and the K&N and is supposed to be a nice filter with the "Velocity Stack".

i was reading the post on the heat soak problem with the VE earlier. i'm just wondering why would any intake other than the CAI provide gains? aren't the rest of them still sucking hot air from inside the engine compartment?

thanks

The Stillen sounds just about the same as a regular K&N, I had both. You can check my homepage for a pic of my Stillen intake in my VE engine. The only thing I like is that the Stillen looks better but then again you're paying for that also. Both of them give you the same result in gains if any and noise.
